I can't wait to see your ranking of season 1. For me, epsiode 5 blew me away. I think it was the best episode of the season, and top 3 of the series thus far.
episode 1 yes they were in Transilvania, Romania. as a romanian that episode was... interesting. the actors (except for the ones that were actually romanian) really tried to speak the language and i love them for that (and obviously in the show louis and claudia don't actually know it either), but it was just 😭. i know romanian has some sounds that are hard to pronounce, but i just could not with that episode... it was uncanny hearing my own language there💀
also idk if anyone would care but i found this interesting: when the old woman vampire says "we own the night, yes?", the actual translation to me is different from what i think louis wanted to imply at the end of the season. the way she phrases that is more like a "we have all night, don't we?", which i personally just take at face value (it is early n the night so we have a lot of time left), something a human could say as well. in comparison, i feel like when louis says it, it's more about asserting his power as a vampire, if that makes sense. idk if the difference was intentional or if i am reading too much into it, but since you pointed it out it made me wonder
I like how simple it seems. From the... production side? I know nothing about making television. But the last ep was at the end of the day just a few dudes mugging at the camera. And it was beyond fantastic! ;DD
Gugu Mbatha-Raw is a beautiful, charismatic, and talented actress of stage, screen, and tv with an impressive resume. On top of that, she has a history with Sam Ried, who has palpable on-screen chemistry, which makes transitioning more seamless and agreeable. Can you imagine them both together as Akasha and Lestat?
@AllGreyEverything Well, they said the same thing about these actors before shooting ever began. Including Delainey Hayles when replacing Bailey Bass as Claudia for Season 2, and she blew it right out of the water.
Armand is the ultimate rebound queen. His maker ditched him, Lestat in the 18th century ditched him after learning his powers, and Louis ditched him.😮😅😅
Your fan is really a fan of the show! It made sure we heard its reaction! Still, happy I found another reaction channel for this amazing show, thank you! 🤣
Something to think about - Armand said he preserved Louis happiness. Daniel made Louis happy. Maybe his turning Daniel wasn't fully out of spite. Perhaps it was as apology gift to Louis. Perhaps it's because Armand finally found someone who could best him & hold his own against him. And by being his maker - he would always have someone he couldn't read and would therefore be a match for his own mind. Or perhaps Daniel wanted the gift. We'll see in season three perhaps.
@@R3HealingModalities I love love love these theories and thoughts!!! I think such a good point that Daniel can hold his own! He is the “fascinating boy” after all!
I don't think Louis and Lestat got back together. I think they just reconciled. They had a moment of truth and reconciliation, and Louis left him in New Orleans and went back to Dubai on his own. Remember he said he was companion enough for himself at that time.
@@cullenarthur8879 I think you’re so right- I feel like season 3 will build their relationship to then being back together (possibly) but right now I’m just happy for Louis!!! He owns the night!
I wonder if the story will follow the music route for Lestat. And I wonder what style of music his band will do. Considering how many sub-genres there are of rock music now.
@@StandAsYouAre I’m so curious for his music! They teased it in interviews and mentioned going for a hedwig musical or rocky horror show vibes- so fun!
Armand must have told Daniel to " rest" and gave him the dark gift .....they were always low key flirting anyway haha ..and now Armand can have his facinating "boy" forever
God I can't stop watching the Louis and Lestat reunion scene. I must have watched it at least 20 times now and it is still making me shed tears. I enjoyed your reaction by the way, especially how animated and expressive you are. Great job!
This was a really fun reaction - you have a great personality! 🙂 This episode was super satisfying for me. Seeing Louis' character growth and the way he and Lestat come together at the end to mourn their daughter was just amazing. And I definitely got chills with the "I own the night" line. Can't wait for season 3!
really interesting watching your guesses on what this next season will end up focusing more, or not so much, on!! would love to hear more commentary on more shows and films! 🥰 keep it up!
I'm really intrigued by how the feel of the show will change if it does. Coz as of now, it feels like AMC is positioning it as some sort of "prestige" drama (even though they barely promote it). Rockstar Lestata just feels so out of place in this "prestige" world they've created for 2 seasons now. Can't wait to see what they have in store!
"Rockstar Lestat" is really a relatively minor part of The Vampire Lestat, although it's a bigger point in QotD. Not really how I'd promote it if I was AMC.
Really curious about what they're going to do with Louis, since Rolin wants Loustat to be the force of the series, I personally don't think the TV show Louis deserves the treatment given in the books, they have to figure this out!
