What's amazing to me, especially with how nice of a piece this is, they didn't allow you to use the factory holes to help align it and mount it in order to not have to drill so many holes in the trunk lid or at least make sure you have it perfectly aligned for drilling the holes needed. Seems like the engineer was a bit asleep while on auto cad with this design. The tech did an amazing job installing this, but it shouldn't have been this hard.
Great video....a buddy and I rented a total base C8 1LT Vette just to see what they were like a few weeks back. He's 6'3" and said he felt great in it. Only complaint he had was the seats have a narrow feel in the back....but they are very aggressive sport seats, so makes sense. The car itself is an amazing accomplishment for GM. Totally changed the game making something like this accessible at 70k. We were also pulling close to 3 secs 0-60 which feels absurd when you're in the car....just a total rocket ship. By far the fastest and best handling car I've ever driven....and it was the cheapest most base vette you can get....which blows my mind.
Coming back in case someone has an issue in the future. Check you mass airflow sensor, I had it turned the other way, it’s got to match exactly how you took it out of the OEM unit. That my engine was possessed.
I want a system that retains the use of the modes😒 and just noticed for just muffs with npp mode still avtive/usable, it costs more than a header & catback, at over 1500-2000 bucks!!!!😮 Its just a muff swap and keep npp is all I want. This is nuts.
First of all, the Vette isn't a muscle car. Of course it's better than a Mustang. The proper comparison would be the Mustang vs the Camaro (SS & ZL1), and maybe the Dodge to some extent.
I’ve had an 04 GT, 2013 GT and a 2021 GT PP2 Track pack. All amazing cars I’ve always been a Mustang guy! But…just three days ago i bought a C8 Z51 2LT. There’s no comparison honestly to a 5.0 at least, C8 is better in every aspect. About the roominess, I’m not tall but I’m not a skinny bastard, there plenty of room. The frunk and trunk space are good too. If your on the fence go drive one.
The corvette is too hard to get in and out of, so the Mustang is the best choice for a daily driver. The corvette is a supper-hyper car built for the track and a much faster car. I am bias I own a S550 Mustang a great daily driver so fun to drive.
I have a track prepped C7, optimized for TT2 but still street legal. I test drove a C8 and was horrified by the body roll and the weak brakes. My girl loved the automatic, but it felt like a soft boomer cruiser to me. People stop and take videos when we drive by in my ‘17, so the design is still fresh and “true” Corvette. The C8 should have been called something else, front engine/RWD with available manual will always be Corvette IMHO.
Both of these cars are awesome. Its hard to say anything bad about them. I am a mustang guy myself and the c8 to me doesn't look as clean as the c6 which i love.
