Relaxing 'n' romantic blend of classical, jazz, and Spanish-style guitar, to shine a musical light for your day. The Candlelight Guitarist is Brad Powell, who started playing guitar at age 10, inspired by the Beatles. Other early inspirations were Peter Paul & Mary, Jose Feliciano, Simon & Garfunkle, Bob Dyan, Eric Clapton, Chicago, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Carpenters, and Wes Montgomery. Beginning at age 15, Brad studied under jazz guitar legend Joe Pass, who was his mentor and major musical influence. Brad studied classical guitar under Vincent Macaluso, with master classes at CSUN under Ron Purcell and Andrés Segovia. He was mentored in composition by David Rose ("Little House on the Prairie"). Brad plays classical guitar professionally in Southern California, and has 10 CDs as The Candlelight Guitarist. Thanks for watching and sharing a part of your day!
Thanks. Two different major fires, east (not really close) and west (kind of close). This hike happened during a storm which cleared the air for the afternoon. I hoped it would help put down the fires, but unfortunately it wasn't enough rain. Both fires are raging today.
So melodic and beautiful my friend. All of your were very amazing together. Too bad more people couldn't hear this. Loved it and a HUGE like to all of you.
A really heartfelt and moving guitar cover my friend. I had thought about doing this one myself but don't think that I could do it justice. Excellent performance and a big like from me. New sub to your channel as well.
💕💕💕 Beautiful music... So many happy and fun memories spent in HB. Board and body surfing, great burgers at Piggy's, great music at the Golden Bear, beach parties, bike rides, gigging at the HB Hilton Hotel, kisses on the pier... Aaaah...
Hello Brad! This is very special! How did you manage to play for the princesses, cast and guests? You did some beautiful guitar covers on your channel.
Thank you, Jo! I have have played occasional performances for Disney for about 25 years, and from March 2019 till January 2024, played solo guitar at Disney's Princess Breakfast Adventure, at the Napa Rose restaurant in the Grand Californian resort, playing for the Disney Princesses and their guests! It was great fun and the cast was wonderful! Glad you liked the covers! The Disney songs are terrific. Take care, my friend!
@@CandlelightGuitarist That's so amazing! Did you had to apply to work there as a musician? My dream is to play someday for the princesses in Disneyland Paris. Not as a job but more a once in a lifetime thing. Aurora said she would love me to play there someday when I did let her listen to my version of Once Upon a Dream. Yes Disney songs are magical.
@@jolenfo Hi Jo! I started playing there many years ago (like a "guest" performer, not a cast member), and so it was all word-of-mouth and referrals for me. But anyone can apply for their openings, including music jobs, at jobs.disneycareers.com/search-jobs?acm= Once Upon a Dream is a wonderful song...I'm sure your version is beautiful. Dreams definitely can come true, through hard work and perseverance! It's very important to believe in yourself and don't give up. Good things take time. Best wishes, Jo!
@@CandlelightGuitarist Thank you Brad for your answers! Its inspirational. I subscribed and will check out some more content on your channel from time to time. Keep up the good work friend!
interesting a different arrangement than the Guy Van Duser arrangement---I play the Van Duser Arrangement---however I appreciate that you have come up with a different arrangement---viva la difference!!
Thanks! I'm not familiar with the Van Duser arrangement, but I'll check it out. I arranged this from the original Sousa band arrangement (I used to conduct that with a band at 4th of July events) and added my own passing chord and walking bass ideas. But I did hear Chet Atkins play it live circa 1980, so I knew it'd be good on guitar (that's the only guitar arrangement I've heard.) Happy playing!
