Hey Matt, just want to drop by and say I still have all your IIWY tracks perma-stuck in my brain. It was awesome to hear one last one from you in the finale. I hope you continue upload your music here (or somewhere) because it's all good stuff. Cheers!
@@mattpopemusic Matt! This message is long overdue, and I'm very sorry for it! Thank you so much for the wonderful surprise shout out on If I Were You a couple weeks ago- it was amazing! I heard it on the 27th (my partner Eugen had listened to it before me and said "I was going to flip" and then secretly filmed me watching the beginning of the episode and got my reaction at the mention of my name, it's pretty great. 😂) I meant to message you the next day, but then I woke up with COVID YAY! Which put both of us out for a week and a half. I'm sure you were surprised to hear that Jake knew who I was, he was right in saying so. We've had the pleasure of meeting Jake and Amir a few times after their Toronto shows, we even met up with them after one show and went dancing, and I sent them some artwork from a print line we used to have for their old LA office (which can be seen in some Geoffrey the Dumbass and Off Days videos.) I still have to send them a message to fill them in on how I connected with you (really it's just because I was such a big fan of Just Two Jew Dudes, which I legit just listen to in my spare time. Do you sing in all the songs or have friends sing for you?) Anyway, I'm so glad you told them about your fundraiser, as I'd been thinking you should reach out to them to promote it. I just thought it was really special that you were challenging yourself to a physical commitment in order to raise money for such an important cause. We had just helped run a fundraiser for Ukraine with other photographers and it was really rewarding and wonderful to have so many people donate from around the world, so I wanted to pass on some goodwill to you. Thanks again! 😃
@@WorkerBeeSupply What a lovely message thanks so much Becca! Haha so glad you got a kick from the shout-out, you absolutely deserve it ofc was such a wonderful surprise when you donated - cheers to Eugen too. Awesome that you've met J&A, and that artwork is dope. I'd never watched Geoffrey the Dumbass, but stuff is v funny. Stoked you listen to 'Just Two Jew Dudes', that was fun to make, and am I right in thinking you got that it was a Ben Gibbard parody? I do sing in my tracks, though occasionally my friends pitch in eg. my friend Lewis both wrote the lyrics and rapped them in '8 More Years' (I wrote/rapped the words in 'Carol of the Schmuels' which btw features the word 'indurate': Keep every almond and date like it’s my niece’s nuptial but if you wanna Berate Schmuel well take a shot Seize the cheese like a metapod I harden that’s right I’m no feta fella I’m cheddar I indurate when I’m old but you Better like waiting cos baby it’s cold Outside and this Schmuel’s hibernating' Sorry had to get that verbal flex off my chest :) Amir ended up donating which was v cool of him. And cool to hear of your fundraiser that's great! Anyway, thanks so much for reaching out and stay tuned for another J&A tune :)
Great to see you hit your goal, I hope that number keeps rising and more people can enjoy a nice hot meal. Good on you for raising awareness and encouraging people to donate
So glad I went to your RU-vid channel after yesterday’s episode- because this is definitely one of my all-time favourite theme songs! So cool to discover your channel and other videos now. LOVE the new song!
Wanna try something similar? Duck Shoot - Rupert Gregson-Williams from The Crown... Which also Hans Zimmer is involved in the series as he is the one who composed the series' INTRO. Similarities between Duck Shoot and these 2 is also impressive. Beautiful music.
As a matter of fact, while we are here, I have others with similarities with these 2, im gonna name them all: - Time - Hans Zimmer from Inception - Safe Now - Henry Jackman from Captain Phillips - Duck Shoot - Rupert Gregson-Williams from The Crown - Rage and Serenity - Henry Jackman from X-Men First Class And weirdly enough all of them share a similarity with Journey to the Line - from a Thin Red Line By Hans Zimmer. I believe, well I suppose that this is the song from which Hans Zimmer Based Time on (but thats my opinion).
@@j3ihgfhgijg thanks man - have now uploaded 'Go Upgrade Yourself' if you want to listen: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a3sMP9vKqSc.html&ab_channel=MattPope
Not to be Captain Obvious here but from what I read when I noticed the obvious resemblance, Hans Zimmer always work with a team and one of those team members on Inception is John Powell, and the music composer on Captain Phillips is John Powell, I think the theme's baseline is John's and was used in Inception, John then used his own version on Captain Phillips. Without going back to fact check everything, I believe that's how it went.
