Thank you for your expertise. I’m wondering if I have this, seems to have started when health care workers were unable to obtain my blood pressure in upper arms. Pain is terrible and unable to obtain a reading either. Finally managed to get hospital staff to take my blood pressure in ankles! Do you think this maybe possible?
This presentation was very helpful! I am new to lipedema and have wasted plenty of money on socks that were ineffective. This helped me understand why and also helped me understand why when one person says, "This brand is the best!" that may or may not be true for me depending on my shape and my measurements. Anybody that would recommend Amphetamines and Statins for Lipedema is misinformed at best. Both will cause liver damage. Liver health is paramount for any inflammation. And Lipedema is an inflammatory condition.
Hi Ma'am I am from India, I have multiple Lipomas, I consulted with doctors, they told there is not any cure. I have to go for surgery. I have a nodule half thw size of a GOLF BALL half way between my arm pit and breast. It's fatty lunp lipoma diagnosed in a ct scan. I also have excessive fat on thighs.
I have 100s of lipomas in my right arm, in my thighs and have lumps i m my stomach/ intestine area my mum has histiry of lipomas bejng removed and they grew bavk we bith sleep but are always tired, my mum is niw suffering confusion. Is is thjz dercumz disease we are bith easily bruised slsi.
In 1991-1993, I had a work accident in a glass plant, giving me an all body injury. The injury occurred with my right arm, at a full body connection. Everything was meatballs, nerves almost completely severed, muscles, etc. My lymph nodes were completely destroyed. I have had lymphedems, lipedema since that time. I was not told about it at the time that I was aware of. I died 2 times. I have increased fat accumulation since that time. All records have been destroyed. 😢 I have lived this way over 20 years.
Nope .. its an actual connective tissue disorder which makes your limbs harbor abnormal nodular fat deposits and makes you prone to amassing fibrotic tissue that swells / painful or tender to touch and cannot be lost through diet or exercise
you look for a lymphedema specialist in therapy--- not every physical therapist is trained in it. Some Occupational Therapists are and some Physical Therapists are.
Please go on statistics on Google data base and you will see that I am not lying to you. 92 percent of Caucasians are getting breast lips and ass surgeries just to have womanly bodies and now they are coming on social media after a bbl which can be done by injection not just fat transfer. They want to get their men to cover the shame of almost 100 percent of Caucasians getting surgery to have a black woman's body . This is too shameful please take a break. Look at the statistics and not believe everything that comes on the internet. almost 100 percent of the women in South America are getting it too. So disgusting and shameful how desperate they will do anything just to get attention base on jealousy so nasty I'm turned off by these women's desperate cry for attention.
I love Dr. Herbst - she has been such a font of knowledge on the subject of Lipedema. Unfortunately patients report that she has recently stopped seeing new patients. The very few doctors who even diagnose and treat Lipedema with her level of expertise have LONG waitlists. We need more competent, trained clinicians!
Where oh where does one find such a caring and thoughtful dr ,mine takes two months for an appointment, then gives me ten minutes, I don't think she has ever seen my body !
It's so sad that I live in an area where we have a TON of doctors but none of them seem to want to know anything about lipedema. I'm not too far from Baltimore where there are more knowledgable doctors, but my problem is I have other health issues that make it hard for me to drive, but it's far enough away that I can't ask someone else to take me. I really wish I could find a local doctor who takes insurance. My doctor seemed completely ignorant about it and thought I was saying lipedemia, which is not the same thing.
This doctor is amazing!! Ive never been cared for by a doctor like this EVER! Shoot, mine don't even touch me anymore. I literally have a lump on my body n she he didn't even touch it to feel if it felt harder or more fluid like! I couldn't believe it. I want this woman to take care of me, then maybe i will live past the age of 45. When was this recorded, where does she practice?
What about a little liquid serrapeptaise mixed with dmso and put directly on the skin for lipedema? Maybe would break down the scar tissue faster than taking it orally
My question is, why is this doctor such a rare bird? I've lost count on how many doctors I've had to explain this condition to, and that includes female doctors as well. Incredibly frustrating.

And I'm like: I DONT EVEN EAT 2000 CALORIES & WHAT I DO EAT IS WAYYYY BETTER THAN WHATS ON THIS STUPID PAPER! LITERALLY DID YOU EVEN LISTEN TO ME?! And they're just dumbfounded that I didn't take the paper like a good little patient and go about my way. They have lost the ability to listen to their patients. Oh you want to lose weight? Here an Rx for Ozempic. 🤦♀️ No, I do not want your toxic drugs.....
@@thesupermom1975 To add insult to injury, we're *paying* them to talk down to us "non-male", "birthing people" of illegitimate gender. I've had all I can take with the profession. I avoid doctors at all costs (money and aggravation).
Try Carnivore way of eating and alternating extended fasting. Why? Because there is a connection between food intolerances and lipedema. And carnivore is an elimination diet.
It's not an elimination diet. Elimination Diet takes out everything that is most likely to cause sensitivities. Animal products are likely to cause sensitivities. As are processed products. The best Elimination Diet starts with fruit and vegetables of limited varieties.
I have never heard of food intolerances and lipidema. It is a combination of autoimmune, hormonal, and vascular problems. Everyone with the diet advice needs to educate themselves. This is a disease most do not understand. At one point, I was on a hardcore exercise regiment for five years and only lost 12 pounds. I have fasted once per week for the last 2 1/2 years and have hardly noticed any difference. This is not a diet issue.

I have just about all of the symptoms of hypothyroidism, but my blood values stayed at the lowest acceptable number, never dropping into the "official" zone for treatment. I tried Pure Encapsulations Thyroid Support and some of my symptoms improved after about 3 weeks. I had to stop taking it because of a personal financial crisis, but as soon as I can afford this supplement I will definitely take it again.
