Ive gotta give it to Brand here. He’s taking a very heavy topic, makes it clear that he disagrees with them, but actually treats them like a bunch of normal lads which they act positively to and are more relaxed and he doesn’t go into some annoying virtue signalling monologue about how bad racism is.
Someone commented asking me for a link to the full episode, then seems to have deleted their comment. So I'll post for others. If you just google it, along with "dailymotion" you'll find it. Super easy. Enjoy!
Is it just me or does this feel like a really odd episode? It might have worked better for Helen to just be mentioned at the start as having gone to the next city to look for dresses and therefore not around all episode to notice Lucy being missing. Instead the scriptwriter must have been required to use Anne Haddy in that episode but had no plot based use for her as they seemed to have just contrived random scenes with Sarah and Harry, whom I don't think we've really seen her interact with before but suddenly she's best friends with both of them. Also, unless I missed it, no mention of where Jim is supposed to be during all the time his youngest Lucy was missing presumed kidnapped, so clearly they weren't allowed to use Alan Dale within this episode. Then on top of all the above when did Des and Max become best mates, and why on earth is Des putting pepper on Max's dinner then eating some of it? Could the props department not manage a plate and meal for each of the actors for that scene? That was a really odd scene, particularly given it was both character's only appearance in this episode.
I don't understand what some say about this show i enjoyed it not quite as good as his earlier stuff but still good. Harry Enfield is still funny. My favourite characters of his in this are (The Politician) yah yah yah yah yah yah yaaaaah!! (The Guy) in pub at the beginning & end. And my absolute fave (The Foreign Chemist Man) that's one way to get rid of a burglar. 😄
They didn't show this in the UK till episode 171.I remember Madge Harold and Henry and Shane talking in their house and thinking Henry was handsome. Thanking You Hazel
No chance of a 'king doctors' reception now - Tories and Covid killed it off! Can't get an old geezer to chat to unless you pull him in off the street. Still never mind, the Tories are laughing and partying - still.
