@@euggie2000 Yes, sorry about he quality. I made this video quickly for a friend, but I receieved so many requests that I uploaded it to RU-vid. About the Environments window? Hold Option when selecting the window menu. Logic has hidden it from the menu as a legacy feature.
Not at all. The Nektar Impact LX25+ is only a MIDI controller, meaning it controls external software and/or hardware. The sounds in the video are soft synths on my computer (VSTs). And thank you!
Hello, First of all, thank you for this juno X playlist. It helps me a lot in my learning of this superb instrument. At 3'30 you activate the aftertouch, you can hear it and it shows. When I try it at home, I don't get any aftertouch and yet I'm on the same scene as you. Do you press hard on the keyboard? thanks in advance!
This is great to hear. I actually don't use the board that much, but I still love it. I'm mostly using software these days for my releases. For aftertouch yes, you press hard and can even wiggle the key for different results generally.
I am gonna be honest. I primarily bought this for live performances and I've not really done any since COVID. It's sitting here in my studio, but not getting any use. Sad, I know. So I can't really speak to wear and tear. Sorry.
I know nothing, have a Mac, what DAW would you suggest if I’m a complete newbie and wanting to record some chill sounds? I won’t be performing live. Thank you so much for your videos! SUB’d immediately!! 🦋🦋🦋
Cool - I get mine on monday over the weekend.. Can't wait. Just what I need for the desktop. I have two 49 keys from Native Instruments by my side atm, but since I have a small space I need to put them away after each session by the studiodesktop. This Novation LaunchKey 37 Mk3 is going to make a huge difference in that matter since I can have it on my desk all the time... Tnx for the video Eric. - btw: just subbed now! 🙂 -KK from North Norway.
To be honest, I absolutely love the 37. I primarily use it just to play the keys, so none of the advanced functions. I like that it fits 37 keys in a space that other controllers only have 25 or so. I absolutely love the feel of synth action keybed. I use it ALL. THE. TIME. (I do have a 76 key controller as well, but don't use it unless I need full command of the keys.)
SUB’d immediately for the fact that you respond to your comments. You’re a SAINT!! Thank you! I’m confused though, if I have this keyboard and a daw, do I need to get a BOSS mkii looper? (Sorry, I’ve been binging videos about all this stuff) 😝😝😝
All you should need is a MIDI controller keyboard and a DAW. Most DAWs have some soft synth (plugins, VSTs, AU's) and there are plenty available for free. Honestly, your DAW can do all the "looping" functions for you if you are looking to go that direction.
There is probably a complicated answer to this. The simple answer is that I have my Juno-X connected to my computer to via the USB. That allows the Juno-X to transfer MIDI notes AND audio to the computer. You will need to setup your DAW to receive these signals. I think I am going to have to leave it at that for now.
hey. maybe u can help. My Logic and Juno X Arpeggiator are not working together properly. The Juno Arp is not responding to the switch on/off. I think it has something to do with the midi that goes from Logic to the Juno but I don't know how to switch Midi off for each Logic part separately.
That's a deeper dive. It's definitely going to depend on your settings for both Logic and the Juno-X as it pertains to MIDI clock, sync, and slave/master settings. I would check with Apple and/or Roland if you need more.
Yes, both. The Juno-X has standard left and right 1/4 as well as 5-pin DIN MIDI outputs. But it also has a USB connection for both MIDI and and digital audio. Hope that answers your questions.
Thanks brother for this awesome tutorial!!! A very important lesson I have learned here because you took the time to explain this shockmount set up!!! God Bless you and thanks bro… thank you.

Never heard of this song until hearing it on The Getaway album . I have just listened to various versions and nothing comes anywhere near as good as your version. As far as i am concerned this is the best version and I absolutely love this song Everything is just amazing and you both sing with absolute perfection. As for the synth backing track WOW. ❤
If you are asking whether this MIDI controller can be powered by an external power adapter rather than the USB, then no. It does not have an outlet for a power adapter and only runs powered by USB.
How many expansions can you load in the Juno X ? (Not the Model Expansions) but the Wave Expansions 1-15 How many Wave Expansions can you load up on the Juno X? @Anyone!
Not sure what you mean exactly. If you are talking about a delay from when you touch a key to when a soft synth in your DAW plays then it will depend on your computer setup and DAW. There are a number of things that could cause latency, but in Logic I make sure I don't have any plugins like Ozone running. Also click on Logic's "low latency" button. That's about all I can help with.
Hey brother I just got one of these. Did you connect this to logic only through the usb? If so how did you get it to work I’m struggling with that , thank you!
Yes. I connected via the USB cable. Depending on your setup, there are a number of reasons why there may be issues. Logic and Mac OS have some settings that can be adjusted, but I would connect with M-Audio tech support.
Actually the integration is pretty good. it does control some of the logic plugins, and 3rd party plugins usually let you "MIDI learn." I use this board in the studio unless I need a full-size. I love the feel of it and it's just the perfect size for a desktop.
Do the instructions for the unit list out sounds and a clear overview of how to understand how to navigate, I’ve been using plugin’s with midi controllers but never owned a legit synth, it looks very intimidating.
The answer to this really depends on the person. I think the Juno-X is very playable right out of the box. There are some basic things you need to understand to navigate the controls and parameters, and like the original Junos, a lot of controls are right there physically at the top. However, the Juno-X is an incredibly sophisticated synth, so there are layers that would will understand in time. It is intimidating, but at the same time, you'll be able to hook up and playing within minutes. If you feel really intimidated, a great full-featured entry synth might be the JD-Xi. I don't mind the mini-keys and it has a lot of physical parameters available right on the board.
I'll be honest. I don't use the Oxygen Pro 49 much in the studio. I bought it for live performance so I could control my computer and sets in love performance via Mainstage. I still think it's a solid board, though!
Hi, Using mainstage, is it able to assign different midi channel in just one keyboard controller such as oxygen pro? Let say ch 1 for keybed, ch 2 for pads (used for drone pad)
I just re-read your question and realized I wasn't very specific. For one, the Oxygen Pro does allow the keybed signals and even key ranges to go out via different MIDI channels. At the same time, Mainstage allows you to split a keyboard and assign different ranges for different instruments.
