Morisette did so good here. When she did it on ASAP last year parang pumasok na sa ulo nya na magaling na magaling sya kaya sya kinain ng song. Here she just felt the song and sang her heart out. Sayang. She was good.. then..
the only difference is Mori's emotions are not yet matured and doesn't resonate with her eyes... It's about accepting that you won't be with the person you love and the song is like a desperate plea to destiny to have you meet in the future and Mori is smiling. She does that often... smiling while singing a sad song before. though she gets the voice, Regine's was very emotional.
for me there is no need to compare,they both have their own time to shine.ms.regine been there and that's not gonna fade,but it's Mori's time.bad comments and opinions doesn't matter anymore,that won't change a bit oh what i believe. i love you Mori <3
Morisette should stop reviving Regine's songs if she wants to have a name for herself. All the videos I've seen of here were mostly Regine's! She even sound like her. She's good, but in this song, especially on the last part, she just couldn't hit it smoothly. Sorry. But I really hope she build a career different from Regine or she'd end up just a second rate copy cat. I hope her producer or management would give her new songs to interpret. Kung hindi, sayang ang talent nya.
She can't connect to the song because she doesn't understand the pain of it, she's young that's why. And she also tried to copy Regine's emotions here. Regine's version is far supreme.
Ok naman version ni mori kaya lang bawas bawasan nya pag galaw na parang kiti kiti hehe nakakadistract kasi no need ng madaming movement para magconvey ng message facial expression at mata lang will do..
Ang galing ni mori,i like her much....but mas maganda at magaling at kakaiba talaga pag si songbird ang humirit...walang kupas,at walang kapantay talaga,kakaiba ang vocal range nya...
I came back here after almos 5 yrs and still, Morissette is singing this in Mr. C's concerts. Namamayagpag pa din kasama ng iba pang new generation divas. Kaloka ang magsasabing hindi talented si Mori at hindi daw impressive. Jusko. You need Jesus na guys baka may problema na kayo sa tenga at pagaccept ng mga bagay. kalerki.
Infer naman kay Mori, sa kanya talaga binigay at inalok ang pinaka-challenging piece and probably the highlight number of Musicman at 60 concert. Such tough shoes to fill, but she delivered. Not as perfect and flawless as Regine's but then again pa-Diyos na sa ka-perpektuhan yung kay Regine that anyone will always say something to somebody who replicates that iconic performance. The important thing is Mori delivered well here.
@jocriss Regine recorded this when she was 30 but has sang it before then. It is not about the vocal quality of Morisette on this song but the technique and discipline to maintain the legato line. Hindi bagay kay Mori ito. In fact, mas maraming young singers ang mas babagayan ng kantang ito kausa kay Mori like Katrina, Jona and Angeline.
@jocriss you are focusing on the power eh. The problem with Mori on this song is not her power....it is the breaks in the vocal line. Kumbaga...di masyadong malinis. This is not that important sa mga RNB or fast songs or songs na makulot. Pero for power ballads na very long ang vocal line, halata kasi pag kahit may konting break lang or may loss of support sa boses. Doon nawawala ang magic nung kanta. The ability to maintain the vocal line is what makes singers with relatively smaller ranges sound great - think Dionne Warwick, Gladys Knight, etc.
Yung vocal line ay ang magic sa boses ni Regine, in my opinion. Yes, mataas boses ni Regine at may dynamics and power... pero maraming singer ang may mataas na boses na may power. What sets Regine apart is her ability to tell a story in her songs thru great phrasing by extending the vocal line.
Anyway, this was four years ago. I wonder how she would sound if she would sing it today. Kung mapapansin niyo rin, hindi rin masyadong malinis mga performance niya sa The Voice noon unlike ngayon na paraang mas polished na siya and mas alam na niya ang capacity niya as a singer.
Regine sang with ease, finesse, story-telling, profound emotional, natural speaking voice.... As in iba talaga. But mori will develop more. Just dont oversing the song to impress.
i thought no one can come close to Regine's version but oh boy!!! she sang this song really great... superb performance! Regine will be forever Queen...but like all Queens they have to relinquish their crown and Mori is a great choice even RV said herself "HALIMAW" siya kumanta. kaya wag na mag away at i-compare sila maging proud na lang na may ganito tayong mga singers sa pinas.
Regine is the best..especially the laat part yun yung malakas nyang hatak...I love mori too but here I understand her career is just started here...hopefully she has new version of this song especially today that her voice is more powerful and trained...
