I bought 2 as well. I saw the same crumbling foam. That foam is for floatation. Best to try to keep it intact. After a couple of years one of the foam inserts became loose and shook around a bit. Mine has a plastic peg that is pushed through the side of the kayak’s seat to stabilize the foam, it had worked itself loose. I sprayed some foam “stuff” through the plastic insert hole into the foam insert’s hole created by the plug, pressed the plug back through the hole and let it dry. Seems more stable now.
Beautiful trail. Thanks for sharing your well done video. Better keep pedaling fast, keep your mouth firmly closed, and wear goggles there in the summertime. It looks like it might be a trip through a mosquito factory!😄
I have been on this trail, it’s very well maintained throughout. Have been in it out here DeKalb/Sycamore too, although I’m not sure if it’s continuous the whole way from DuPage to DeKalb
