I thought Ross Ewich was a real person because he looked like a floor and stage manager, but he was actually a character played by Les Lye.

Why do I feel like Jim Carrey on In Living Color copied/borrowed the first act from Les? There is a Canadian connection, incidentally.

Les Lye was such an amazing actor. Les could play so many characters onscreen, and if you didn't know that, you would think there is like 50 people portraying those roles. Les Lye - 50+ characters onscreen Mel Blanc 50+ voices onscreen Its late coming and I am sorry. Les, You knew everything about acting You taught the kids well Your have made history in the book And I will see you sometime, well Barth is my favorite guy And I will tell you why You didn't give a crap When the puke had a fly, Blip took the quarters As fast as he could Even from the boy that was made out of wood When the kids came home you were sitting on the chair The lady with the dish gloves didn't seem to care Moose was the best actor on your show by far Some people call me by nickname too , jbscar As Barth would say , Diiii heard that in the back Les Lye you, are the DADDY MACK!

Great tribute video! I don't suppose you have any episodes of Willy and Floyd you could upload? It's my favorite children's show of all time. I also got a chance to interview Les Lye for an hour around 2007 and he was just as nice as he seemed. It was really an incredible experience.

Thanks for the comment. We are in fact in the process of going through the archives of the Lye family. We do have a few episodes already and waiting authorization/permission from the CTV Network to use in our documentaries/memoirs.

PriceLes If you could post the full existing episodes of Willy and Floyd here on RU-vid, it would be a dream come true for me. I believe that the Lye family and myself are the only people who actually own copies of the Willy and Floyd show in any form (I taped several off the TV when YTV ran the show during the late '80's and early '90's) and I've been looking for any episodes I don't have since the early '90's but have come up with nothing. As the copyright owners have no existing copies of the show themselves (the master tapes were destroyed or thrown out according to all the sources I've contacted in the past), and therefore could never use them in any way, they shouldn't have a problem with allowing Willy and Floyd to finally be seen again by the public. In addition, all of the episodes of You Can't Do That on Television and its spin-offs are available on RU-vid so there really shouldn't be a problem with Willy and Floyd. Both were made by Carleton Productions. I had virtually given up hope of ever seeing the show again, so if you could make this happen, my joy would know no bounds! Incidentally, I always felt, and told Les Lye so (which he was happy to hear), that the episodes set in a talent agency, filmed between 1976 and 1979 were the best. Les brainstormed pretty much all of those shows by himself, whereas the later episodes set in a hotel from the '80's were more like a typical kid's sitcom and written by hired writers. The talent agency shows were probably the best showcase Les ever had in any format, as they were creative, funny, charming and you never knew what to expect next with the skits, songs, etc. featured. Luxton and Lye were the pefect team! The most magical children's show of all time in my opinion, and able to appeal fully to adults as well as kids, which is rare.
