Really enjoyed the video Agga. I love casual reviews like this. Would love to see more in-depth reviews of Acronym and the like. Answering your question, I'm actually a huge fan of some of Acronym's recent work. I picked up quite a few pieces from this season and have been rotating through them quite often. I've become even more into the brand because of this season. I understand why some legacy buyers aren't into the new direction, but personally I feel like it's a great twist on the brand that has allowed me to match Acronym with some other labels in my closet (Not just building Acronym uniforms everyday ha!). (Specifically, I love my SK30, SP57-DS, SP38-M, J1WB-E, J123A-GT, and J118-WS-EX) I also really love the inclusion of the spike tape items. I know that's a super niche take, but I find myself wearing the spiked Acronym more often than non-spiked. I'm going to take your side on the J100-FO/WS though. It's not that it's wide or the material is strange, it's that it's not a good-looking jacket at all. The fact that both iterations have all sizes in stock right now says that most agree. Looking forward to more videos man! Keep it up!

I personally enjoy the acronym videos, be it piece reviews or seasonal reactions. Price aside, I would love to experience the J100-FO. I agree oversize might not look great/too trendy, but I try not to let that deter me to imagining a look for myself with it. It's been styled with SK30DS, and it lends itself well to the samurai aesthetic with the sleeves out. The pocket in the front is kind of what kills the vibe for me. otherwise, along with P59-E, it's just dune vibes. I think the strap for the phone pocket is weird, but i see the function i guess, just extra security with gravity, I think the overall silhouette is great. i got into acr post-17 around 22, and i suppose i could be considered an enjoyer of late-gen pieces/seasons. i enjoy the blazers lows as my first shoe collab, first pants/piece was alpha green P34DS, and slowly building collections from there. I mostly have pieces from ss22 and onward, started cargos, then ss22 coyote tanktop & trousers, classic J58WS for the classic insulation bought second hand cheap, FW22 white longsleeve & NG4 blackzip. tanktop and gaiter clicked the ecosystems for me and wanted to continue xp function. J103GTV in the rainy winter first goretex xp, so rainproof wow, SS23 longsleeve turned me onto pima cotton, and SP29-M & P30ALDS & S32PX sale rounded seasonal wear. got more SS22 J95WS coach in black for cheap this summer, and the summer xp continued to open my xp. after P41DS raf sale, im thinking no more dryskin pants necessary, feels redundant to me maybe like with you and goretex jackets, but otherwise, the tech keeps surprising me with every new purchase. I personally feel there are pieces I like from every drop, kind of sleepers or brainworms as you would say. I think we've just been following the brand for a while is all, and it is a long wait for seasonal releases. I really dig the concepts each season tho. SS22 school vibes & cool dusty color, WF22 snowy burglar, still dying for that SS23 blackbucket hat-greenblack J111-P48 combo, FW23 reflective mech silhouette, SS24 spikes prob most inaccessible bc of liekly wardobe incompatability with spikes. I do feel you with some sentiment tho, i dont dig the font heavy stuff, and numbers in iterations, ie 68 -23Q, while I respect the experimentation, cant help but feel something cooler could have filled that slot. id say i still positively look forward to new drops tho. anyway, thanks for sharing the vid!

Errolson has completely lost it, honestly whenever I see him still modeling his own clothes in his 50s it gives me the deepest most spiritual cringe. Like everything he has done recently is just phoned in, the build quality of all the jackets iv purchased has been garbage, literally seams coming apart after light use. Seems like he has been to busy rabidly posting loads of wild anti Israel stuff on his IG to design anything good. My Jewish friend lost at at me for wearing an acronym jacket, and said the guy is a rabbid anti semite, I didn’t believe but she said errolson got in her boyfriends face for wearing a Star of David at some party in Berlin. I guess the 50 Israel stories a day make a bit more sense. 😂😂😂
@AggaCityGang
@AggaCityGang Месяц назад
I have not really found the quality (control) of the newer stuff is less than the older. I've had quite some issues with older garments too, but usually was able to get that fixed somehow. I do have issues with the way he has gotten so political in his social media. I mean there is an Acronym account now too,, but before that his stories had already become some kind of news channel. This is not why I started following him. He should have kept it about fashion in my opinion, but he can do whatever he wants. I personally have just muted his stories.

I do agree the new direction has been so cringe inducing, especially with the use of spike studs on the latest Spring collection. Retailers opting out of using the spikes in photoshoots for their online retail pictures says everything about the poor design choices they make. As for politics, he can say whatever he wants on his personal instagram account. It has since been separate from the acronym account. If your friend thinks being anti-zionist is equivalent to being an all around anti-jew that says more about your friend's position on the ongoing genocide.

Oh well. The 4 pairs of pants iv got are all fine though. And I honestly think, maybe controversially, that that’s the better place to put your acronym purchases. I love acronym, but as I've grown up I stared to notice the main acronym pieces i use the most are the ones that aren't anything aesthetically too crazy. My p10, p37, j44l, and LA10 come to mind. Do still wear things like my p23 or my j72? Yes, but the versatility of my simplistic pieces does a lot more for me. I can throw them on at any time and it looks good and still functional. New age acronym seems to be going into that "avant-garde" direction, and it just kills appeal for me. I really hope they go back to basics with future designs, or if they do continue down this route why not also re release updated older models. I know there's plenty of people that would love a pair of p37s or a j72.

Personally, I don't think Acronym is "dead," but it's definitely experiencing a lot of growing pains right now. "Techwear" as a whole is indeed dead here in the States, but I don't believe it was ever truly alive in the way people perceived it. Acronym doesn't hit as much as it used to, but as they produce more due to their growth, some items won't have the same impact as older seasons. That said, there are still standout pieces in certain seasons, like the J1WB-E, which sold out at almost all retailers on the first day of release. I think Errolson is aware of the issues with some designs. I have a few items that will stay with me for a long time (maybe even forever), and it's okay to change interests-that's part of being human and growing out of things or moving on to other fashion scenarios. I find it great to explore how to incorporate old Acronym styles into newer brands, integrating them together to appreciate Errolson's legacy. With all that being said, though, I do believe if they continue down the same path, they may have to rethink their design decisions as a whole because retailers won't be able to sell their items unless on sale, which has been a trend recently. I can't imagine Acronym is fond of that, but they have the data to fix this and hopefully we see a resurgence of the fabled 2012-2017 era Acronym. (wishful thinking). Definitely miss seeing your vids, even if you uploaded just lifestyle vids it's nice to see someone actually using their gear outside.
@Destrega2097
@Destrega2097 Месяц назад
I think their success led to them overproducing which the website reflects. A few years ago there were like 2 rows of products and most sold out, now there are 13-14 rows with many things still available and not selling. Acronym was super famous because it was rare, so IMO they produced too many different things and reduced their own value of the brand. What I apprecieate though is that although I also don't like much of the new designs, they are experimenting in new directions to constanly reinvent themselves. Also they are often ahead of their time, so I wouldn't be surprised if iin 1 or 2 years I suddenly think some designs are amazing, I will keep following them for sure and buy a few things here and there. But in general Techwear seems to be pretty much dead sadly, yeah. Enfin Leve also heavily increased prices and reduced products and custom sizings.

So i still wear my acr collection (J67-FO, J1L-GT for example) in cold season and still enjoying it, looking forward for that period of the year, ,mixing with shadow project pieces and it feels great. I totally get the waning interest in Acronym, for me it's been a ten year journey and my slow acquisition of all the items I have has been mostly because I've wanted them for years. I'm now at a point where I don't think I'll be buying too much more. I still really appreciate what acronym do as they make some absolutely crazy items of clothing to this day. Some of the mothersite exclusive trousers have been very interesting but I will literally never pay £2000 for a trouser or jacket from them, it's just unreasonable. I do really wonder how Acronym looks at their current stock levels and doesn't worry about how extreme things are getting. Many jackets from years ago are still listed on their website with a full size range available and with these J100s I really have to wonder who would pay 2k for a jacket that's pretty simplistic by their standards. As for the general 'techwear' movement it could be that interest has waned a bit. I like to think I wear my stuff from acronym in an unpretentious way. I'm not trying to be a cyber ninja, I'm just a regular guy, some of the fits and items of clothing I see being promoted on places like r/techwear make me sick lmao Also you haven't let your channel die, I've always really appreciated these long videos, it's good discussion and will be great for future reference. Great video! I found a brand new one on Reverb for 638.93 + $173.34 Shipping or $812.27 located in UK. I’m in the US so don’t know what VAT or any other taxes would be. I have since found another alternative that is equal to Martin quality but at half the price. It’s the Zager ZAD900 Solid Spruce/Rosewood Acoustic Pro Series for $1720. I’ve owned a Zad80ce and can attest to its quality and sound as well as a lifetime warranty. You can only buy online which is why they can sell at such a good price. The majority of their guitars are sold with 1 3/4” necks but you can order any guitar with 1 11/16” neck. I am thinking of ordering the ZAD80 again with 1 11/16” neck as I like the added warmth of the Western red cedar top And it’s only $1395. I think Mayer likes the Spruce top because he plays with a band in big arenas. I only play at open mics or for friends and family with no amp so the warmer sound works better for me. Overall though for the price you paid you got an excellent guitar and if could find one here without the shipping I’d probably buy it. Reverb accepts returns but I’d be on the hook for shipping both ways..ouch. Zager has a 30 day return policy and they pay shipping both ways.
