The intent of this channel is to document my adventures in finding, retrieving, and restoring vintage tractors and farm equipment. These videos will document the "Thrill of the Hunt" and the many "Trials and Tribulations" of moving heavy vintage iron, typically not in running condition. My channels main idea is to tell the story of how I restore these machines to like new condition and use them in shows, plow days, and parades. My personal goal is to preserve them for years to come and teach some basic mechanical skills to my viewers and explain how these machines work. There will be tool tutorials, explanations of systems and components, and hopefully some humor to make you laugh. May contain some "Spicy Language" and "Dad Jokes!!!"
Please subscribe to the channel so you can get notifications of new content, and please like and share if you can! Thank you for your support!!!

Nicely done. I did my 420c years ago, and your video will be helpful to others. It’s accurate, and clear. I coated the final faces with a shellack sealant when I drew them up to fill any pits and make a thin gasket. Best regards.

I found this interesting since I've never really messed with these other the replace a line. I'm curious if there are bushings on either end where the pins go in? I don't recall you saying anything about that. My dad purchased a new compact tractor last year and I was shocked to discover there were no bushings.
@RustyWrenchRestorations
@RustyWrenchRestorations 8 дней назад
@Jason1Pa no bushings on this one either. Some do... some don't. Of I remember correctly the pins are softer than the bucket brackets... like how railroad car wheels are softer metal than the rails. Easier to change wheels as they wear than rails. Of course they do still obviously wear also. Fortunately these are in great shape and have little slop.
@Jason1Pa
@Jason1Pa 8 дней назад
@RustyWrenchRestorations Yes you are right. I've been hearing on occasion that the rams on the newer stuff isn't as hard of metal as it should be and they get egged shaped plus the pin ware as well. I wouldn't surprise me,but I'd need to ask if they are getting grease enough.
@RustyWrenchRestorations
@RustyWrenchRestorations 8 дней назад
@Jason1Pa unfortunitly I think alot of people neglect simple maintenance ie: greasing perks often. Lots of operators out there running someone else's equipment t and just don't car and aren't held accountable. Takes 10 min to grease perks and check fluids. I agree with you!

Thanks Jason! Regarding track parts... nothing new available. You can still get the master pins and clips to hold the rails / chain together... but that's about it. I’m on my fourth microphone in under a year. I’m definitely going to check that out. What I’ve found recently is that the expensive ones typically aren’t any better. It seems like the expensive ones have noise canceling which seems to cancel me as well. Sometimes I actually want the noise of the tractor running in the background. The one I have now seems to work okay but I still have to increase the volume when I edit. I didn’t have to do that in the past.
