It has been written in the stars: I am meant not only to watch RU-vid videos for all of eternity, but now to create them as well.
Anywho, I’ve decided to join the Air Force and wanted to share my journey into the military with you. If you’re interested in learning more about my experience in the Air Force and want to see some lifestyle vlogging, then this channel might be just what you’re looking for.

@@jaslyn5501 Going in at a later age for me has been fine physically. Having life experience outside the military helps with professionalism in my opinion (not saying young folks aren’t professional, just saying I have more job experience). There are some days I wish I would’ve came in sooner because I would have been halfway through my career by now but I have no regrets. I knoooowww I need to do an update, just been lazy about it honestly. So much going on I would like to share with you all! Thank you for supporting!! 🫶🏼
That is so awesome to hear! I’m so glad things are going well and that you have no regrets! And yes, having already worked in a professional setting for years will definitely have its advantages. I think I’m mostly anxious about having to live in barracks due to no dependents after having my own apartment for years 🙃 Thank you for reaching out and I can’t wait for an update! 💙
@@taznolebae yes you have to take all your piercings out at BMT and in uniform there after beside the first lobe piercing for women. Men are allowed to wear clear spacers if they have lobe piercings.
Omggg I love thisss. Thank you for the support 😭🤍 I was literally just thinking about how I need to get back to making content and this just inspired me more. I will definitely be getting back to the RU-vid grind. Thank you so much 🫶🏼
I did not have a degree before joining but I was one class away from completing an AA in Writing and Literature. You do not need a particular degree as an enlisted member for any particular job. I hope that helps!
If you have an NREMT cert then you get to skip a good portion, around 3 months of training, but if you only have a state cert then you do NOT get to skip ANY of the training even if you have a Paramedic cert. If you have a LPN/LVN/RN cert, you cannot skip the nursing portion. To be fair, the nursing portion is only about a month long and almost impossible to fail
Hiii I ship out on March for this job and I haven’t found any information about the job so thank god I found you. I have few questions if that’s okay? • When you finished basic training (the graduation) did they send you to your AIT school right away or would you have time with your family? (Asking cuz not sure if you got sent to Ft Sam at 8 on your grad day or next day) • How was your AIT life like? Were you able to leave whenever or like go visit family or does that need approvals too? I’m from Houston and knowing AIT is in S.A, I’m kinda glad cuz I have a baby boy. • whats your day to day like hours and stuff and have you deployed yet? I know it’s a lot but I’m sorry 😭
I dunno if this info is too late, but usually you get sent to your "AIT" (AIT is Army) school right away. I'm not sure about army/navy, but typically in the Air Force (unless you are Guard/Reserves in "student flight"/Delayed entry program) you're "pipelined" into going straight to Tech School. After you graduate BMT, you are put into a bus to go 30 minutes away to Fort Sam Huston from Lackalnd AFB (not in Huston,TX btw) the day after you graduate Basic Military Training (BMT). You will not have time in-between graduating and going to Tech School to visit family except for the graduation ceremony. You may have time during Tech School to visit family if they are nearby, but usually you wont be able to until your have the "phase 2 or 3" privileges.
Thank you! I asked my husband (prior service) if they would bring my suitcase with them to my graduation feom basic and he was dumbfounded...said I could just buy what I need when I get to tech school. No. I like to have what I keed on hand and buy what I want if I want.
This job was my #1 choice and there was 1 opening. Unfortunately, I did not get it due to my TAPAS score being low to qualify for the position. I didn’t know that but also I didn’t take it to heart. It is what it is, and the needs of the USAF. I’m still intrigued about this job however. If an opening opens up I will definitely try to cross train into it. And plus, going to school and getting a degree/certifications in the medical field is sexy haha.
When there was 1 opening, when did you find that out? Were you sworn into DEP already? I'm about to leave for MEPS and really want this job but don't know when you find out if there are openings for it. Thanks!
Some Questions I have lol hope you get a chance to answer them:Are you overseas or instate? Also when you buy a car and you’re called in to deploy overseas or go to another state do you guys just ship your car to that place?
What’s the difference between this one and Surgical Services? Would you recommend this job over Surgical Services in terms of transferable to a civilian career? I am looking to transfer my job over to civilian life and hoping to make 6 figures.
My tech school was about 30mins from BMT so I packed my suitcases before leaving for BMT and I asked my boyfriend if he can bring them to my new base where my tech school was located.
Hello, I’m not sure how it works exactly for someone with dependents but perhaps in the future I can do a sit down video with my friend and she can tell you more about it since she was married and had a child when she left for BMT and tech school.
I definitely recommend. This job can translate very well into the civilian world and you can even get your LPN by taking a test just from having this job. 👍🏼
I’m going into the Air Guard for 4N0X1 soon but I heard that they do let you skip a certain portion. I’m not completely sure, make sure to ask! I think it was the First Aid?
I was a USAF Aerospace Medical Technician at Vandenberg AFB, CA from 1965 to 1969. In those days an Aerospace Medical Technician worked strictly under the Flight Surgeon either on a base or in Med Evac. I assume that all changed at some point. I did an 8 week Medical Helper Tech. school at Gunter AFB, AL and a 12 week Aerospace Medical Technician school at Brooks AFB, TX. I loved my 4 years in the Air Force and took full advantage of the GI Bill when I seperated.
🫵🏽💪🏽👏🏽🗣️🙋🏻♀️🌏Please 🙏🏽🇺🇸🫶🏼give me pointers on how to get my daughter to sign up for the military? She is wasting her youth doing nothing for her future, pension or retirement! 😫😭Latina Momma so concerned 💃🏻⚔️🛡️⏳📯
Technically speaking, you are not allowed overnight guests unless they are also active military. So for instance, if your civilian friend or parents wanted to stay over, they are supposed to be out of the dorms by midnight.
