Ppl have no idea how dangerous & how notorious New York City was during the 1950’s! Ppl in Fort Green Projects Brooklyn right now have no idea who the MauMaus & Chaplins was & how serious it was in the 1950’s! I’m thankful to God for transforming Nicky Cruz life & becoming a living Testimony
Ha ! Captain has a great sense of original timing in his vocals. I have somewhere a recording of him singing 'Blue suede shoes' in a similar style. The guy is a genius in my book, the guitar on Blackout on Damned on 45 and the second guitar break on Girl I'll stop at nothing are just superb.
Fantastic video for the time ,and one of my favorite Damned songs! I met Laurie a couole of times, boufht some of her xlothes from her Hyper Hyper stall, and used to visit there a lot.....Later meeting her and Dave on Carnaby Street....good old days...
OOHHHHH MYYYYYYYY GOOOOSSSSH!!!!!! THEY DID A COVER OF FIve FOot ONE>!?!?!?! I'm freaking the freak out right now!!!!!! I played the grooves off this Iggy record!!!! THis is .....PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!! XOXO
well, as per original spirit of punk, they had to change, and try something different? Who wants to hear the same album over and over again.. theres only so many times you can shout cxnt, fxck, p!ss etc. It gets boring after a while.
It had been a good day out up until that point - was so disappointing when the lights came on a third of the way through the set, with the announcement "Thats the end folks.." (Or something like that. I also remember Anti nowhere league were on the bill, but they didnt play for some reason.
yeah, he got hit on the lip full on - it was only a plastic container, but was heavy cos had beer in it, and was bad enough to require stitches in his lip.
