I love this!!! Im seeing thjs very thing in youth ministry. The chuch I grew up in would get mad if you visited another church. Now that I am older I am thankful God can use me to make a change to be humble and speak to everyone and build community with people even if they dont plan on being a member of the church I serve at
I listen to every podcast and generally find them enjoyable, but this particular episode left me frustrated. While I strive to extend grace and the benefit of the doubt, the justification of shoe theft, presented as a whimsical, Aladdin-like scenario, was problematic. Moreover, the statement, "So there's another ethical piece of it that's like helping them to understand, like not everybody who does something violent is wrong," does not align with biblical teachings. We should be guiding students towards truth, rather than indulging in feel-good postmodern narratives.
The four Faith skills: Getting to know God takes effort intentionality and time spent together. 1. LISTEN. to God's word and his spirit 2. PRAY. honestly and gratefully to God 3. TALK. dialogue about faith with others. 4. LIVE. Honor God through your worship and your lifestyle.
This was really helpful! I am studying towards a ministry degree, and it has given me an idea on what to look forward to going in to a hiring process and what to be open to leering going into it.

Thank you all and Ashley for this powerful video. It is really needed. I think something that can help is talking to Christian resources for grief and trauma in a future episode. Counselors can share what tips that are helpful to talk to our youth about grief. I am realizing that our youth deals with so much more than what we dealt with as youth! The lesson was super helpful and you were so kind and gracious with your time, thank you all for what you do for our youth!)
