I teach practical skills to help you become a 3d visual effects artist!
Most people assume that becoming a 3d visual effects artist is too difficult or unattainable, but it doesn't have to be that way. When opening a 3d software package for the first time, it can seem overwhelming. Getting past that first initial few weeks of the learning curve is by far the hardest part, but after familiarizing yourself with the user interface and basic functions, the rest of the journey becomes so much easier.
My channel is dedicated towards teaching you 3d creative disciplines in Blender, a free and opensource 3d software package that is versatile, robust that rides on the back of an enormous community. The only requirements needed to succeed is a computer, time, dedication and a passion to learn.
I have over 20 years experience in 3d, and I am happy to share my knowledge to help you grow.

@@miencaphe9303 Well, I am glad your found the information you were looking for because Blender without looptools is like icecream without the cream 🍦😆
Hey mate, love the tutorial! I'm having an issue when it comes to the voronoi texture. After I add the map range and bump it doesn't give me the results that show up in your video. Any ideas what could cause it? I've copied everything from the start multiple times but it always messes up at that point haha
It could be several things causing this issue, for example applying the scale to the plane object, or maybe a setting on one of the nodes. I have a troubleshooting channel on my discord server, it's free to join. You are more than welcome to post your questions and screenshots of your node structure in the troubleshooting section, that way I will be better equipped to help solve the problem. Thank you, it is appreciated. The tutorial isn't perfect, but I am always working towards improving how I deliver my tutorials. Have a great day and level up 😀
Hey folks... I recommend following the starry night sky environment shader tutorial to understand the system and to level up your skills, here'e the link to the tutorial: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WF8rrwUWmyw.htmlsi=k0QWV... The XXXX's are the remnant from blender's old layer system. It's a bug, when I installed blender after they replaced layers with collections, I loaded previous settings which resulted in this bug. When I upgrade to Blender 4.2, I will ensure to do a fresh install which should get rid of the error.
To achieve that, all you have to do is follow all the steps in this video, and instead of adding all the modifiers to the plane object, just add them to your desired mesh object :-)
There are a lot of reasons why it won't appear in render. If you get stuck, feel free to join my discord server where you can post screenshots where I will be able to help diagnose the issue. discord.com/invite/mWrqrt3j5h
It's great to have you in the blender community, blender can be a steep learning curve to begin with, but you get passed that initial stage of navigating the user interface you'll start skyrocketing. Just be patient, stick with it and you be at the top of your game before you know it. Thanks for watching, liking and subscribing, it is really appreciated. Have a great day and level up 🚀
@6.27 seconds when installing the light I do not see radius, max bounce, cast shadow or multiple import. Mine says diffuse, spectacular, volume. Did I miss a step somewhere or don't have something correct? When pressing play the light doesn't shine at all. I'm trying to match my screen to yours and make sure everything is identical but some small things are not there.
@@ElectroHeart303 Apologies for the late response! The reason is because my render engine is set to cycles, and I think your render engine is set to eevee, You can either switch to cycles render engine to access the same light settings, or you can continue with eevee and adjust your settings to match my results. I hope this helps, and thank you for taking the time to watch this content. Have a great day and level up 🙂
Excellent, I am currently working on episode 2 where we will be making 2 more generative tropical aquatic plants with geometry nodes "Didiplis Diandra and Crinum Thaianum" and some procedural generative rocks.
You're welcome anytime, I have made all my RU-vid tutorial blender project files accessible for free on my Patreon, here's the link. www.patreon.com/PhotiniByDesign Level up and have a great day!
12:30 Awesome effect, to me pretty complex i wonder do we need maybe a utility node that handles gravity and collision? Perhaps you should contact development and think about what would be needed. Because next is fire smoke clouds lava fireworks etc. your on the right path to replace particle modifier i think which was a long term goal with animation nodes. Your video is good in explanation but how far of is blender what would it need to make most of the other effects to? I hope your reciepe gets included in blender 4.2 as a starter. Please contact the Devs you do great here. 11:22
Thank you for the feedback, it is really appreciated. I am planning on remaking this geometry node particle system, blender have added some additional nodes which I think will enable me to simplify the node structure without sacrificing any functions. Blender will eventually remove the old particle system and replacing it with geometry node presets like they have with the geometry node hair system. When I have re-made the particle system, I will definitely consider submitting the final setup to the Blender dev team. Thanks once again for your feedback, have a fantastic day and level up!
Thank you, it's much appreciated. I am currently working on uploading all my blender files and assets to my patreon page. I've already uploaded a handful of assets and blender files, and when I have enough material uploaded where I know I am adding value to the community, I will start letting people know about my patreon in future videos. I aim to keep the patreon membership price low so that everyone has the opportunity to benefit from it. 😀
Thanks, there are some really good hidden gems with blender's default add-ons. I have them all enabled by default. I am working on some more add-on tutorials at the moment. I am publishing my next tutorial this Sunday, it's covering the sapling tree gen add-on 🥳
Great demonstration of your technique, with very attractive results. I was wondering how you achieved the large control points on the curves, and finally pinned it down to preferences->themes->3dviewport->grease pencil size. Grease pencil size? Hah! Thanks for the video. Subscribed.
Just an FYI, the "loop" in your setup doesn't really work - it only works using some certain parameters like Density 1000, Loop Frame 480, and Z Speed -200. If you change them to other values, the animation is not looped at all.
Yes, I didn't notice until it was pointed out to me. I will remake this tutorial at somepoint and ensure to test the system before publishing it. Thanks for the heads up 😀
You're welcome, I am glad you found it useful. The node setup is versatile, this just serves as a bases to expand upon, have fun editing, experimenting and making it your own custom setup 😀
@@PhotiniByDesign I'm not an expert, I want to create more density of the particles at the bottom and less at the top, like a ramp node in 3D space, but I'm not sure how to do that, what would you suggest?
There are several ways it could be achieved, I expect the get length or distance function could do it. I will be remaking this geometry node particle tutorial soon because the looping function is broken, I will ensure to add a falloff feature in the updated tutorial.
