It says the #9 p1834 trolley track support/hanger can handle 1200 pounds. If I had for example a 5 foot unistrut, how many would I need to support and slide 1000 pounds?
It looks really useful. I only ever see it being used to hold electrical conduit against the wall. I guess it is expensive. I assume the patent is long expired. I have seen generic versions of it at Menards, stocked in the electrical section.
I use the unistrut system to hang punch bags, I would like to be able to roll them away. However I need a trolley with a lock when in use - is there any solution available?

Well that was certainly informative, thanks. I'm going to use this to lift my snowblower and other stuff up into my loft. I've seen the specs on the rollers and unistrut and have purchased accordingly! Is there any other videos that deal with installation of this system,I have been looking for 2 weeks and have just ran across this video.
Just found out about these today from a contractor. Using to frame an inside wall perpendicular to commercial roof trusses. Brilliant design and never knew the existed!!

Nice wooden ladders and invisible fall protection. I guess OSHA was not around that day of filming. Glad to see this Unistrut remains American made and American owned. I hope. One never knows now.
Ok so I have a wired pool table light above my 9 foot pool table. I wanna get a ping pong top to play ping pong too but light is in the way.. I was thinking of adding a plug to the light and connect it to thoese retractable extension cords. The retractable extension cord will be plug in into garahe ceiling outlet...then I wanted to mount light on two unistrut rails with a trolley to move it out of the way whenever we wanted to play ping pong. Can this be done and do you think it will work?? Basically wanna move pool table light back and forth when playing pool or ping pong..that's why I wanna get the retractable extension cord so it can retract when rolling light out of the way to play ping pong or move it back to play pool.
I would like to know if I can use this rails and trolleys to hung up 2 punching bags iny garage..I wanna be able to slide them out of the way when not using them...if I can what would I need to buy exactly to hung them? One is an 80lbs and the other one is 40lbs
Hi Marco, people have definitely used them for this application. Please contact our customer service and we'll be happy to work with you to build a bill of materials and quote. unistrutstore.com/request-quote
Can I use thoese little trolley wheels with this? I wanna use it to hung up 2 punching bags in garage so I can roll them out of the way when not using them?
You can purchase them through our TSP Division, on our Traffic Safety Products website. They are normally in stock and ready to ship within 24 hours of order: trafficsafetyproducts.net/sign-posts/sign-post-installation/u-jack-post-puller.html
This video is AMAZING. I work with unistrut almost everyday as an electrician, and I never realized using a strut nut actually boxes the unistrut and strengthens it.
THE CUSHION is made from a thermoplastic elastomer, it's built tough to withstand the effects of most oils, chemicals and industrial cleaning compounds, in temperatures from -50F to 275F. Interlock edges and channel locator legs ensure that the cushion remains in place. unistrutstore.com/pipe-clamps/cushion-clamps.html
Just made a garden store with unistrut - didn't realise I was being so old skool..!

Isn't there *any* room for even the head of a recessed carriage bolt, or a flat-headed elevator bolt to allow the trolley to pass in 1-5/8" strut? What about using slightly smaller diameter bearings? That's incredibly lame if there isn't a workaround. I have an application where 1-5/8 track is as far as I can go. Hanging the track even lower with external hanger brackets is not an option.

@George Davis *Actually, I already did.*

@George Davis *I ground part of the hump off of the top of the heads of the 1/2" carriage bolts, but not too much. They look more like elevator bolts now. Then I painted them because grinding took the galvanizing off. I then used 1-1/2" roll pins shortened to slightly more length than the standard 1-1/4" roll pins originally used, changed the bearings to a slightly smaller diameter, but 1/64th if an inch thicker, and added 3/8" spacers between the 1/4" thick center plate and the bearings... nothing to it!* *The bearings are sealed and don't spin as easily as the open races of the originals, and probably need to be derated a little bit on maximum load capacity, but I'd easily trust two 4-bearing trolleys to suspend a bosun's chair for me to sit on and slide across the length of the second story soffit I bolted the track to, so I can replace burned out recessed lights, wash windows, and paint the wall if necessary. Most times, I'll just have an electric hoist hanging from it to haul my groceries up to the second floor balcony. Where there's a will, there's a way...*

I wonder if there is some UNISTRUT channels with Arc chape to use it to install curtain in winter to prevent snow from accumulating on floor of a half moon chape balcony?

I have a unique situation, wondering if this could work ... I have a back-to-back double channel, set vertical with 50lbs moving up and down the channel back and forth quickly. With positive pressure outwards, could rollers be set on either side? the entire assembly is stiff and supported, and the travel is only about 15" - the channel is only unsupported on that 15", but welded all around otherwise. I understand these are not designed or engineered to be used in this fashion, and I do not intend to hold you to any liability in asking, just curious. I have other options but am considering this route. Do you think it will work?
