As a Maritimer who understands the real meaning of this song, it's always fun to see people from Alberta react to it like Americans do to "Born In The USA", like it's some kind of unabashed love song to their province. It's more about Atlantic Canada (where The Trews are from) and those who end up having to travel to Alberta for work than it is about Alberta, hence the sea-shanty-style breakdown near the end.
Thank you Emily Haines for giving me 20 years of the best music. Literally the soundtrack of my life. You’ve shaped me into the person I am today 😢. I’ll never forget that and you’ll always be a part of me.
Love this song. But can you guys please update to Deezer and other streamings the version of The Storm you recorded for Southern Souls? That would make my day, my month, my year, my life. When you come to Brazil I'll be there. 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I was researching the movie Goal and I was like woah what's that song in the background during Newcastle vs Liverpool. It's 2024 and i wish I discovered vered this earlier.
@@caperboy1169 at the end of the day even if I did she didn't die for my sins. God did. Thanks to Jesus I'm guilt and shame free and can even wish the best to my enemies through the power of the holy spirit. All the best to you sir
