I love these artists who are so giving. Many would have said they couldn't sing or needed to prepare, or all those other excuses. While people like Mr Kaylan just want to see people smiling and having a good time.
I’m reading your book and I got to the park with you and JIMMY PAGE oh my Lord I would’ve given anything to be with JIMMY PAGE back then my heart was just a pound and some some good stuff in that book props to you
Jim Tucker passed away November 2020 in Grass Valley, Ca. The local paper, the Union did a beautiful two full page (front and back article/obituary. I watched for the first time my Dinner with Jimmy and made note of the bulling incident instigated by John Lennon. What a creep he was. No excuse. Invited a band from a foreign country over and then treated one of them so poorly he left the music business. Jim Tucker was loved by many in the Grass Valley area. RIP. Jim
I know Warren and Bill Hamm from the old "HOP" days and before that he was in a band with his brother and they played a lot at a teenage night club in Fort Worth called "The Circus Club" in the late 60s. The Hamm Brothers were the best local band ever to come out of Fort Worth and I remember Warren singing "Living to Die" by Edgar Winter even before I ever heard Edgar Winter doing it on the radio or on an LP. So I always identify that song with Warren Hamm, a best memory of one of my favorite songs and Warren was awesome singing it!
As always, a great video and fun gathering Vicki! Shirley recently celebrated her 90th birthday and remains sophisticated, elegant, warm and wonderful! Marty was brilliant in his own unique way, and is greatly appreciated and missed.
you re right, spirits are best in the morning so you can "trip in a can" = tube, then get back from schooling by bus on plain air in the evening ( might only be understood by an European...but....Till the end!!!)
Vicki ... we interviewed yesterday, Paul, Susan and Bob Cowsill ... we loved them... down-to-earth chat on zoom for my TV Series, "Patty's Page TV Show," here in Fort Wayne, Indiana... will be aired on local cable and be also streamed online... in the next several months, we will inform you when.
Man - We used to drive up to At My Place from OC to see Michael and the band play. Music was so good you couldn't even listen to the radio on the way home. In addition to those amazing instrumentalists, he used to have incredible singers like Maxayn Lewis as well. Some of my favorite musical memories. Thanks Michael!
This interview displayed a hatred and contempt for normal Americans which made me sick to my stomach. If you love communism that much, how about you relocate to China? I grew up in a socialist country and it’s falling apart due to the elite which you must love. While you mock average Americans and Trump and spew hatred and vitriol, you yourselves are the biggest threat there is to democracy. And you support Iran, China and Russia by doing so.
Drinking is such a great thing to eliminate from your life. I realized it was time for me to stop when I was drinking Tangueray and tonic (ice cold with fresh lime slices) on the way to work in Westport. You don't smell it on yourself but after being a drunk, I think the smell of booze just reeks out of your pores...
Here with curiosity after watching him in a couple of eps of _"Everybody Hates Chris"._ Reading the description here, I see Les Moonves mentioned in a bad light. IDK the story yet, but we _all_ know that Les is disgusting.
just came across your channel and your interview with Steve Lukather it was really good now just starting to watch Rudy Sarzo these were bands I listen in the 80s so cool channel I too play guitar so love these interviews y
Dear Vicki Abelson, I just want to thank you ( specially you) for your great opportunity to be able to interview Michael Ruff. I ve been following Michael Ruff ( at least ) since 1992 and I am such a big fan of his voice, lyrics and especially as a musician he is and plays. Maybe he is one of the reasons that I became a musician ?? I am SO happy that I had the opportunity to know his music “even me living in Denmark ( Scandinavian) “ know his music - I was introduced by one of my musician friends back in 1992. Thank you so much for your beautiful work. You are awesome. BR Arthur Badal www.arthurbadal.dk Phone: 0045 28511087
Bob used to play for four hours every Friday night at Pickwick’s Pub in the San Fernando Valley. The whole audience sang along, often harmonizing. I miss those nights. He’s a wonderfully warm and talented performer.
Oh, the man is beloved!! Him and his family!!! One of the last great recordings of the brothers together and to show off Steve's songwriting // STEVE PORCARO - 'BACK TO YOU' // ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8yCZCXvGHtI.html // 1983 outtake that wound up on his first solo album "Someday/Somehow" in 2016 with his brothers Jeff & Mike (posthumously). The rapid synths, the tight drumming, the pocket bass fills, and the sense of lyrical urgency in the later years of a songwriter. Feel it all in this song. Sounds especially cool in headphones, especially with the synth patterns.

He was funny on MH MH. I was wondering if he acted differently than his personality. Nope. He sounds the same as on the show. They kept that with the role. There were funny lines he would say straight. That's what I thought was good. A straight huy/ Wow, very rare.
