Welcome to my channel! I am an elevator enthusiast currently located in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, but used to attend college in Ithaca, NY, so you will see plenty of videos from both places, as well as other locations from time to time!

Honestly, these newer Schindler elevators do NOT hold up to outdoor, weather, or vandalism well AT ALL. They should have gone with an Otis or ThyssenKrupp standard traction or hydraulic elevator. Even a Gen2 or Synergy would hold up better than a 3300/5500.
I need an answer for this. Once we were fooling around in the airport, we got on a Jannus Elevator and went down to some level named 'E' or something. It probably wasn't open to the public but it was realllllly cool to find a secret there. This was before the renovations, however. What did I see?
I'm actually not sure what was down there since my first visit to this airport wasn't until 2021, after the renovations were finished. I know the lower floors of the garage were expanded and its floors were renumbered, so floor E back then is floor 2 now, and the top floor is now 8 instead of 6. Based on the floor being labelled as "E", I would guess that used to be employee parking?
This Mall is owned by Taubman Centers which is a subsidy of the Simon Mall property group. The Simon code of conduct states that non commercial photography is allowed. So that means you could get another video of this elevator. Just have the Simon code of conduct ready on your phone if you plan on doing so. More likely than not, the security guards are not aware of the policy. I experienced this at the Westfarms Mall and when I showed the security director about it, he did not know about the policy. In reality, it's Simon's fault for not addressing the modified policy to the security team. But know your rights here. Hope this helps!
Also they have a Schindler that goes to floors 1-5 which doesn’t make sense to me unless they were going to makes these express elevators to floors 5-10 but I’m not 100% confident that’s case
This is one of four Macy’s with glass elevators in Florida, the others are Tampa’s Brandon and two out of four in Broward County: Galleria Fort Lauderdale and Pembroke Lakes.
I think those are new elevators. I recall in the 80s the outer doors on the first floor were not stainless but painted steel. They also had very 70s hall lanterns (circles that protruded from the wall) that were very appropriate to the building.
Sadly yes, the Westies are no more. I was here in Feburary after all the upgrades were complete. I made a lengthy compilation of all the banks, you can check that out here if you're interested: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kxuvCXvBQ2E.htmlsi=AveAgcl-yZYr2uZy)
