I provide news and discussions from across the NASCAR Cup, Xfinity, and Truck Series. As well as discuss news around the world of motorsports like Formula 1 and IndyCar
Unless Dodge stops making bad decisions (especially in the consumer market), their return is seriously in doubt. Who wants to see a Challenger or Charger in a race using petrol engine when a consumer cannot buy one of them with a petrol engine unless they're very wealthy. Turning Charger and Challengers into EVs is one of the stupidest decisions I have ever seen. It's just as bad of idea as Hitler invading Russia.
Chrysler was facing bankruptcy in the late 70's and pulled all factory support of all racing. The Magnum was a bloated 75 to 77 Charger/Cordoba, and was not completive, The Mirada, a down sized car, was not any better. Le Iococa, pulled Chrystler out bk with the "K" car and stopped making cars that could race in Nascar.
by securing a 1.5B loan. Chrysler survived. When DMG bought Chrysler, (1998)they again made cars eligible to race. When DMG sold them, the new designs were not competive on the track or in the wallet, then 2008
if stelantis survives there in deep pooo, dodge wants to buy dodge back but greed has taken thet company down. like gm its is majority owned by china. there both controlled by that period. the lies will be out soon. been there but the lying media does there commie thing.
NASCAR really does one of them there they really don't want Ford there either it's all about Chevrolet and I'm a Chevy guy but I think what they've done to the other two cars over the years is bullshit but it was okay to let Toyota in and let him do whatever the fuck they want to do
I would love to see Dodge come to Nascar. I say nascar was better when there it had 5 or 6 different cars in the field, and different makes in the cup and Xfinity series. I would right now Toyota has the right formula. They have the Supra in the Xfinity series while the Camry runs in the cup series. Having Dodge come back would be a game changer. It would be like seeing Honda compete against Toyota.
It's kind of sad that dodge didn't come back to NASCAR. Dodge deserves a second chance. Hopefully, maybe someday dodge will reunite with NASCAR in the near future.
Dodge will not be returning to NASCAR. Stellantis is actually considering dropping the brand to help their financial conditions. They've already dropped the Charger and have nothing to offer. They've proposed several new designs, but nothing so far. Also, for everyone commenting about the Gen 6 car - it's no longer legal - they would need to redesign it around the current Gen 7 car.
The next-gen Charger would look great on a race track, but it’s a tough sell to company management when the car starts at $60,000. The Mustang and Camaro aren’t cheap, but at least Ford, Chevy, and a Toyota have other cars to sell you once they get your attention; the only other Dodge in the lineup is a small crossover, when there are already a hundred others like it on the market. And the trucks are even called Dodge anymore, so no crossover marketing there. Even the minivans are only sold as Chryslers now. NASCAR should consider switching to brand-styled cars like IMSA did with Daytona Prototypes; a generic ‘stock car’ shape that reflects the manufacturer’s design philosophy, but doesn’t rely on a specific car model. So few cars are suitable for racing now, it may be the best way to keep manufacturers involved.
1:28 Super rare early video. Not film. 1:54 Crisp and clean, but subject to "tube overload" (a glint of light blew out the vacuum tube to black for an instant). That's why horn players in Johnny Carson's band dulled their instruments finish, to quench the 'flash' for TV. And everyone since, now, mostly for posterity.
Dodge shot themselves in the foot when they dropped sponsorship and sued Bill Davis for selling toyota a truck series chassis, from their chassis business. Makes the next guy wonder if they'll get sued for something they do on the non-race-team side of things. They would have done a lot better had the owner of their flagship team not gotten distracted with the side piece and paid attention to the race team. Everything that happened to Mayfield was retribution for outing Ray's affair. Casey Mears ran half a season for Petty-evernham without pay to stay on track and to keep the crew in jobs.
Interestingly, Dodge Challengers are still used in the NASCAR Canada Series (with factory support? Not sure). I think the EuroNASCAR series might still use them too. Definitely feeling a lack of love for the international NASCAR series in this video ;) :P
Do you people REALLY believe that NASCAR Is legit? I used to be a die-hard NASCAR fan, back long before it became popular. Even when my beloved MoPars were no longer involved. But I slowly became aware of just how fake it was. I don’t have an issue with the teams being “creative” with the rules but when the sanctioning body pulls the strings to benefit certain teams/drivers I had to walk away. I occasionally tune in to a race out of a longing for days gone by but I can never take more than a few minutes, the idiotic rules and the lame network coverage are both so pathetic. I can’t say on here what I REALLY think!
I think it's just poor leadership within dodge itself. Selling themselves to fiat and now they're owned by Stellantis, it's highly doubtful they'll ever make a return to nascar. They're getting so bad that they're not even considered part of the Big 3 anymore, Setllantis is
Old nascar was not on par with f1 it's called stock car racing because the cars were stock not bespoke machines that were lucky to be reliable enough to finish a race. To run in nascar the parts must be offered through the dealer hence the creation of heavy duty packages for street cars. Starting with Hudson in 1955. The only American racing series to rival F1 was The Canadian American Racing Series. Most stories of old Nascar innovations are modified stock parts or taking advantage of the lack of rules. F1 teams design and built cars, engines, transmissions. It's not the same.
Dodge just plain sucks, their cars suck the viper, the hellcat, their ram trucks.. All fuckin junk.. Get a Ford.. First on raceday baby. Chevrolet sucks too, toyota.. eh, they aight.
