With 27 years of experience as a paintless dent removal technician, I've worked on thousands of cars. So many makes and models over the years. And, with so many things I've learned how to do, I thought it was time to start sharing some of my knowledge on how to do them. One thing I did learn over the years, many of these tasks, that could've been made simple, unfortunately these car designers just had to make them ridiculously difficult. My name is Sponge, and I hope you follow my page, tune in, and let me help you with some clear and quick tech tips to get you get your job done more easily.

That's awesome. Just found this problem in my 2007 EOS this morning. In my case two Australian 10c coins were enough to make the switch work. The weird thing is that in the past, if the cargo cover isn't completely down you try to open the roof and you get a warning message on the dash. But in my case I didn't get the dash warning but the two coins (approx 4mm thickness) was enough to trigger the sensor. Thanks heaps. :)

@@brucemckinnon2624 Hey Bruce. So glad I was able to assist all the way down under. In my case, it just happened to be one of those days when I didn't have 2 Australian 10c coins in my pocket. 😂 Thanks so much for watching. I hope you'll take the time to hit that subscribe button. Pop the plastic from the child seat anchor in the back window look down you'll see the cable that runs to the pulls that release the seats just pull on it it should have a yellow cap like thing on it and you don't need to take out the seats

Thank you for getting this video out in the world! I am still fighting to figure out my problem. Had a bad bearing in the OEM blower motor, replaced with a cheap one and now it overloads the controller or motor on the high speed settings. Likely a new climate controller for me if I don't find over heated connectors.

I have this make and model. The light in that console stays on. Is there something I need to replace to get it to turn off while the lid is closed? The bulb gets extremely hot.
@spongestechtips-xu1xg
@spongestechtips-xu1xg 20 дней назад
@@VanessaPalmer-u3b hi. Thanks so much for your question. Sounds like your switch has failed. I'm not looking at this vehicle at the moment, but there should be a contact that should open when the lid is closed. You will need to troubleshoot this to find out why it is not activating, and replace the switch if it has failed. If you don't care, an easy way to solve the problem, would be to just remove the bulb. However, this doesn't really fix the problem. Just eliminates the issue. Hopefully this helps out. Thanks for watching. - Sponge

@spongestechtips-xu1xg 22 дня назад
@@reyteransanchez2962 Hi. Glad I was able to help out. I'm not quite sure exactly what you are asking, however I suspect what you are asking is about the operation of the belt while it is removed from its position mounted in the vehicle. The unit has a safety mechanism that enables it if it's not exactly level in its original position. Once you reinstall it in the vehicle, let it retract a few inches, then it will pull back out again. You can try to replicate it's mounting position while holding it, it's just sometimes difficult. Hope this helps. - Sponge

Great video and thanks for posting! My sunroof doesn't open at all! Water got into the switches due to clogged drains I guess? How do I access the motor to see if it is damaged from water intrusion? Last time roof was open was in June and it was just popped up for a bit; I never checked the drain holes. I've cleaned them before so I know that about operating the sunroof.

Hi. Thanks so much for watching, and commenting. Sadly, if you take it to a shop, or the dealer, they are gonna charge you an arm and a leg to go through this process. That is, even if they would want to try my tech tips process. Most likely, they will drag you through a process of having to pay to have a locksmith get involved. Maybe if you know someone that is a little handy, they could help you out. A 6 pack of cold root beer, and a watch of my tech tips video, might get it done. - Sponge

The actual problem was a low convenience battery, that’s why it said it convenience temporary unavailable, the reason it started running again was because it was running while you were messing with it and the rear battery got enough power

My father is trying to remove the middle seat and the rear back seats of the 2008 Honda pilot. He told me that there are no bolts on the end of each rail. The bolts are in the middle of the rail and the 14mm socket won't fit into the rail to remove the nuts. Do you have any idea what this issue maybe he's just overlooking the plastic caps on the end of the rail. What do you think?

@@user-hz9ux6li3d Hi. Thanks for your comment/question. It's always very difficult to troubleshoot a situation without having hands on. I can tell you, the 2008 and the 2006: should be exactly the same as the video tech tip. It sounds like he is he might be trying to remove the bolts inside the rail, rather than the ones under the plastic cover at the end of the rail. Any way you can forward him my video, so he can watch it himself? - Sponge

Thank you for your response. Yes I told him to watch the video again he was trying to take the bolts out of the rail instead of popping the plastic covers off which is very clear in the video but he is 78 years old so he's not the brightest light bulb right now

Hi. Thanks so much for your comment/request. So far, I have not been tasked with a full service of a Tesla roof. I've watched as we've had to have Tesla come in and replace multiple main battery systems, but not much in the way of sunroofs. To be quite honest, I'm quite impressed with the amount of Tesla's that have crossed through my clients facility, and the majority of them have the roofs operating properly. As soon as I can tear into one completely, I'll be sure to get a video. It's bound to happen eventually, so, if you haven't already, please subscribe to be notified when I do. Thanks for watching. - Sponge
