If it were good, people would have watched it. The political extremes don't represent the majority of people - most people aren't on Twitter. Most people who subscribe to Disney+ just want to watch decent entertainment after a day at work or whatever. They don't actively want something to be bad. The problem was it simply wasn't good. People had no interest. The writing was appalling and the acting by and large - particularly by the lead - was wooden. There was no hook for anyone 'checking it out' to continue with it, it didn't appeal to the existing fan base for whatever reason, and it didn't appeal to a new one, as evidenced by the viewership. So no, it wasn't cancelled because of 'the loudest voices on social media' - it was cancelled because it bombed due to viewership and wasn't financially viable. That's it.
Well actually, I heard it wasn't good so I didn't watch it. are you actually suggesting that people aren't influenced by what other people say? I didn't have an initial draw to it because it was a compeltely new concept, if it were an Obi-Wan show I would have already been invested, even if it got bad response. I only decided to watch it recently because I had some free time. So yeh, the viewership is low, but part of that is because of bad word of mouth, that's litterally how movies and TV shows work, if a movie gets bad reviews people don't see it.
@@RehmatDeen Yeah that's an extension of it being a bad show. Word of mouth as you say is massive, but fundamentally the show has to be good in the first place for word of mouth to recommend it. The idea millions were fooled by the 'chuds' into not watching it is ludicrous, because if it were a good show they wouldn't have had as many attack lines and the positive word of mouth would have drowned them out.
No, it was a terrible show. Stop blaming the cancelation on some people who made videos voicing their displeasure. People didn't watch the show. That is why it was cancelled. End of story
Erm, yeh what was one of the reasons people didn't watch the show, bad word of mouth. Like myself, I heard it was bad so I didn't watch it. And people also didn't watch it because it's a new property unlike Ahsoka / Kenobi, who already have a fanbase and people will watch it no matter what. Kenobi episodes 1-3 were disappointing to me but I kept watching because it's got recognisable characters in it. Not because it was good.
@@RehmatDeen The word of mouth was bad.... because the product was bad. You think it was just You tube personalities that thought it was bad? And that they influenced all of the public? Lol. Heck, the you tube personalities and their followers gave the show more views than it deserved!
The Jedi are not subject to the laws of the Republic, Which is why the policy has always been one of non interference which led to revolt of Revan and Malak in the early republic period and thus the Mandalorian war. also its not about emotional control, its about non attachment, the idea being you can feel the emotions but don't allow them to control you or dwell in them. They were modeled on Buddhist/Zen practices
Completely agree with you especially in legends like you said. In canon, it seems like they have muddied the waters just a little. It seems that while not officially an arm of the republic, they do enjoy certain privileges and almost exclusivity regarding republic sanctioned use of the force (at minimum how it relates to training padawans). As relates to the emotions, I think they try to split the baby too much. In a lot of ways you're exactly right. They would never explicitly encourage Jedi to repress emotions, but in practice, with the constant warnings regarding feeling anger, fear, etc, it tends to manifest (especially in younger Jedi) in maladaptive repression of emotions that leave them open to manipulation by bad actors. But yes, you're absolutely correct that at their best, the Jedi should be emulating buddhist or Zen practices!
Agreed. But I read it as they opened themselves up to the force which is acting on instinct which would likely move to take them both back to the same place.
Its at the bottom, easily below Kenobi. The writing quality on this show is a step below the 'Disney standard'. Mae herself changes her moviations and goals about 15 times through the course of 8 episodes.
Plagueis was tacked on in the last episode because the writers weren't expecting a second season. In any case Plagueis wants to use Mae and Osha for research. He was never in control of the witch coven.
I certainly hope you’re right, although I do agree that Michael made some fairly solid points about the breadcrumbs that he played a role in the girls’ creation.
Oh you’re right! We talked about it elsewhere but it didn’t make it into this clip. Def interesting how they passed each other and switched spots thematically and then also literally… even outfits haha.
Sniffler is friggen annoying and 100% superfluous. For what is it needed? Jedi should be able to sense the fugitives. But okay. Worse is that this thing is a friggen traitor. But what do we expect from a character when the writer of that character doesn't know it's intentions. One scene he fights the murderer and saves her in the next scene. WTF?
It’s totally fair. If you don’t connect either the character it won’t hit. In real life you empathize with people you don’t know but no one owes that to fictional characters… haha. I get it.
It's quite simple...droids are people...but they are people who are so different they are not afforded rights. This is not a criticism of droids but of anthropocentric views and motives.
I would definitely prefer to not have abeloth. Nightmares of my mind is enough. That being said, if they do - I'd prefer it if they lead into it by grabbing the Mortis blade first. Otherwise she's just too unstoppable. Love all the points guys!
Possible Spoiler: I agree that the training session with Sabine and Ahsoka was a huge thing for me. Loved the patience they had to allow us to experience a moment like that. I’m really loving Huyang and his role is this narrative. Thanks for the first thoughts.
That’s a great way to put it! It felt very patiently paced. I’m very glad we got that sequence and didn’t have to rush off to something else. Glad we got to chew on that a bit.
Friend of Taylor's - she had me watch this and I was definitely entertained - my own list below if anyone cares to see it. I want to add two things that somehow didn't come up and I gotta mention them (keeping with the positivity theme) dealing with Rogue One and the Phantom Menace. Rogue One: one of the most underrated things was the attention to detail. The view through the macro binoculars was made to look like it was in Empire and A New Hope. That level of detail just makes me fall in love with that movie anytime I watch it. The Phantom Menace: I've got to be honest, this film will always hold a special place in my heart. This was the first star wars movie I got to see in theaters, the advertising around this movie was second to none to the point that it STILL gets me if I see it in an antique store or the like. The one thing I was shocked no one mentioned: pod racing. It is so iconic and exciting I can't leave it off of the great things about that film. Anyways I'm definitely going to listen to more loved hearing this and love the name of the show. Can't wait to hear more! 12. TCW 11. TLJ 10. ROS 9. Solo 8. VII 7. ATOC 6. ANH 5. Rogue one 4. ROTJ 3. TPM 2. ROTS 1. ESB
Hi there! Ed here. Great point about the podracing! I can't believe we forgot to mention that! There are so many quotable moments from that sequence... it was absolutely awesome. Totally agree on Rogue one. There are so many things to praise that it's hard to catch them all... and it will only get more important to me as Andor finishes up, I imagine! Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for your list! I love the love you give to TPM!
Ok, Ed…not on topic, but settle something for me. In the saga, at one point were the clones no longer serving the Empire (what Episode were clones no longer the Stormtroopers)?
Hi Brian! It was a slow phase out in between episodes 3 and 4. It is shown in a bit of detail in the bad batch animated show. It’s a very interesting and complex story.
