I bought one a few years ago, but never used it. I just wanted to use it, but it's dead. probably the internal battery has had a deep discharge. Any idea how I can fix this?! Is the internal battery replaceable? I looked on internet for information, but I couldn't find it!
I’ve had a couple devices with lithium batteries do this. If you have a wall charger with a quick charge 3.0 port, you can try that. They run at different voltages and can sometimes wake the battery up. Some lithium batteries go into a sleep mode if not used for prolonged periods of time. You can also try holding the power button when you plug it in. I’ve had this work with a power bank, headlamp, and biolite 2. If all else fails try calling customer support. They can let you know if the steripen has a sleep mode and how to reset it.
@@PioneerSurvivalCompany Thanks for the tips! Before I contacted you I called customer support, but that phone number doesn't exist anymore. It seems another company bought Steripen, so I will contact that company after the weekend.
I just used my hammock static v in my litefighter during our urban and 72 hour survival course over the weekend. It dropped down to 36 degrees. I was nice and warm.
I've had the Jura 2 for a few years. It is by far the best sleeping bag I have owned, and I've been a camper for over 60 years. Super durable, and very warm. I am a cold sleeper, so I find that I start getting cold at anything below freezing, but a good bag liner and some good thermal base layers gets me toasty down to well below. If I am car camping, or on my boat, I also take a light down quilt, which cures any amount of cold. The top zipper is awesome. It works great in a hammock, but it's very convenient in any camping situation. There are lighter and warmer bags out there, but for the money I think it's a crazy good piece of kit.
Crab is my favorite BWCA EP. I will be there in late August headed west through Crab, Clark, Meat, Sprite, Phantom and staying on Battle! Thanks for the video. That last site you had on Crab my group sat on that big rock eating fres popped popcorn dusted in Grippo's seasoning watching the stars and satelites!
i learned that pyrite can be used for this by looking into wheel lock pistols. specifically a combined axe and wheel lock pistol in the wallace collection. extremely nifty
Thanks for mentioning the length calculation. I presume you mean 1.08. I've heard that "composite" poles are the best type for being bent. They're used on some Australian swag bivvys. Im thinking of making a frame like this, i thought I'd have to sew four triangles together to made a dome, but it looks like a rectangle works fine for you here.
210T polyester is not ripstop nylon they two completely different fabrics, polyester is typically not quite as strong and durable as nylon but is generally cheaper in cost. You have to keep in mind the price of the poncho vs materials, if you want one with heavy grommets it'll cost more, if you want one with actual ripstop nylon it'll cost more. I have used several of these and haven't had any problems really with the grommets, but then again I don't intentionally tear them out and since you can sew make a heavy duty poncho and sell it for $20-$25 dollars shipped and I'll buy them lol.
I totally agree with you . I have 1 of those in coyote brown and 1 in muticam, and I wouldn't trade them for 10 of the top rated tents on the market. I also have 2 of the ACU improved combat shelters, and I like them a lot as well. my coyote brown tent is 18 years old and still works like new. how many aftermarket tents can last half that long. I believe you answered your own question. It was brother against brother. On both sides, they were both fighting for what they thought were injustices and an attack on their freedoms.
I need a rain fly because I don’t have that for my litefighter! I’m using 2 overlapping ponchos (military) lol where can I get an affordable one (used)?
@@PioneerSurvivalCompany Thanks I have & will continue to do that, eBay used without poles & rain fly (bought recently $35+$15s&h) Poles ($30~ebay) so I'll use my military ponchos as a tarp unti then...Thanks!
You can fill the extra container with dirty water and transfer it to the one with the life straw. We typically carry the Grayl more often now than the universal lifestraw. However, the ability to boil water if your filter clogs , can’t be forgotten.
1:59 The material of the pants is: DuraCanvas (65% polyester, 33% cotton, 2% elastane) and *VersaStretch* (93% nylon, 7% elastane) versa not "dura". ☺ Great review!👍 I love Helikon-Tex products! Greetings from Poland!🙋♂️
Agreed. We like to teach “big as your head or your fire’s dead”. Depending on your skill level, you might not need that much. However, in an emergency, you don’t want to risk the tender bundle not starting the larger twigs. Thanks for watching!!!
But the air pockets are now gone because your dry bag wasn’t sealed properly and popped. I’d also rather sleep on the pile of leaves and a dozen pine or fir branches either the dry bag laid on top of them
The air inside the bag isn’t important, it’s the air pockets between the debris. You just need 3 or more inches of compressed material between you and the ground to fight conduction.
I have one. Probably 8ish years old. Absolutely love it. Bullet proof pack. The more you use it, the better it looks. I have several Frost River products.
