The saying that “culture eats strategy for lunch any given day” is used a lot in the U.S. organizations; largely, in reference to the cultural differences (and not language or ethnicity related but even amongst various regions and states in the U.S. Meanwhile, large international companies such as FAAC, Novo Nordisk, Johnson & Johnson, GE etc. have even larger diverse workforce in so many countries but manage to create a much better harmony! As you have shared Luca’s insight: “focusing on common goals and really getting to know your team members as people first, regardless of background, builds trust and transparency for better performance….”, companies really need to invest more in translating their purpose and goals and objectives to the people (employees) as such that it can build a guiding coalition composed of everyone in the organization at all levels.
