@@BrettGaskinRacingoh man, the personal ware talking about you today, I asked about the fastest lap here and they said that it was 27 sec. Idk how you do it cause either you’re that fast or my car was terrible cause it didn’t want to turn at all. I want to improve it now to but I think my next session will be in Dubai kartdrome😅
@roryhamiltonracing Thanks! It's nice to be able to have a bit of fun and this was great to be on track with other members for some competitive but clean racing.
i understand karting is a competitive sport but that guy infront of you makes my blood boil why wouldn't he let you slide by you clearly have a much better line and hes just barricading the way, this is why people dont kart anymore Edit: those 2 overtakes were smooth nice driving
@unstoppablerage1891 @esakhan2239 I don't mind defensive driving; it makes me a better driver trying to cleanly overtake. But this wasn't a race, just about getting the fastest lap and it would have been better for the other drivers' lap times to learn from my lines.
Thanks for watching the video. I always try to be a clean driver and, on tight, twisty, circuits (like this), it can be difficult to overtake without lunging up the inside. Once I did manage to get past, I put in some strong lap times and pulled away!
Hi! Whilst motorsport is dangerous, if your 8 year old is confident, there will be nothing to worry about. If it's just the two of you, you will be in a mixed session, and who you are placed with (and how they drive!) is out of your control.
Hi Brett, I (Alfie) was racing with you at Eastleigh today (on this video) and I wanted to see how I did against you, and I know what happened with your laps. Your first kart was kart no. 9 and the transponder on this kart is faulty. This is because I had this same No.9 kart for a 50 lap race a few weeks ago at Eastleigh, and had issues with it not recording my laps properly. I was in contact with the team at Eastleigh about my suspicion and, upon investigation, they confirmed the transponder on kart no. 9 was indeed faulty. They said they took it into the garage to fix it. It seems the problem has not been fixed because the app says you did 44 laps. But I rewatched your video and counted your laps (you did 49). You were on lap 48 when it went amber for the marshal to help the person in blue who had their hand up on the final corner, and then you crossed the line to record 49 laps whilst it was still amber. Not long after you crossed for 49 laps, I crossed the line to record 50 laps for the race to end, which is why the lights stayed amber. I thought I’d let you know about this because I had the same issue with the exact same kart that you had before and I know it isn’t fair. It should’ve recorded that you did 49 laps not 44. Definitely get in touch with Eastleigh about this because that No. 9 kart has a consistent problem with its transponder recording laps.
I did suggest that was the case to the marshals after the race, but they said that there wasn't anything that they could do. It was very frustrating, especially as I was hurt in the impact about halfway through the race, but I carried on to complete the race and then it didn't count for anything in the end.
@@BrettGaskinRacingDefinitely get in touch with the team at Eastleigh or TeamSport Head Office because I had the exact same issue before - the kart is definitely faulty and they will have it on record from when I complained about it. It should be taken off track again. I do have to say that the Eastleigh team were great in resolving my case, it’s just a shame the kart still has the same problem and you had to suffer from it.
@@F1GKfan31 The second and a half is just general karting experience - I'm sure that there are lots of small improvements that will take your lap times down and below mine!
Was a good race! I was kart number 14, found your youtube looking up 50 lap race. I came 3rd, my dad took a picture of us on the podium if you want it.
