Is this the RT1266 or the RT1212 or a new one altogether? As you know from my message earlier, I'm looking to add a HP tumbler. Sooo Ironic you posted this! Lol

I wash all my shop towels and washcloths separately, and I dont use any fabric softener. Fabric softener affects absorption too.

Looking forward to buying the 12 pound tumbler soon. Is there any chance the lid seals will work on the similar sized Lortone tumbling drums? Mine have holes in the seals and I'm not finding replacements. Will the drums be available to purchase separately? Enjoy your videos, Thanks.

We're getting ready today to setup our saw we just bought from this company. If all goes according to plan..we'll have a whole room of these tumblers and absolutely going to get both grippers. Large and small grippers 1st then the tumblers next. Thank you so much for inspiring us rockhounders my friends. I'm new to this company. And we're excited to setup the 12 inch saw in our lapidary workshop 😀

I just bought one of these. I have cut about 10 slabs of chalcedony so far and it's performing very well. It does produce a significant about of smoke though. Is this normal? It seems to be coming from the blade or rock... Could it be the paint on the blade as it heats up?
@HighlandParkLapidary
@HighlandParkLapidary 9 дней назад
Are you sure it’s smoke and not oil mist? Is the cut well lubricated?
@scotsmn
@scotsmn 8 дней назад
@@HighlandParkLapidary it's definitely smoke, smell and all. The oil hits the blade from each side via the blue tubes, but once it starts spinning it looks like the blade repels the oil in two streams that land about an inch away from the rock on both sides. I don't know is that's normal. Surely some oil makes it to the edge of the blade?
@scotsmn

If 30 rpm is the ideal speed for this tumbler then the speed should be set from the factory at 30rpm. Superfluous adjustment capability is of no use just a complication. Setting your own tumbler speed in this manner serves no purpose for the user.
@HighlandParkLapidary
@HighlandParkLapidary 9 дней назад
30 rpm is what they come set at 😊. The ability to adjust the speed is great for tumbling softer stones.

I have mineral oil, but not sure what kind of pump I should get for my drop saw. I keep hearing that I need to go to a hydroponics store and get a pump, but it will have to be a good enough to pump oil and not sure what the best Hp for it of anything else I should look for in buying a pump for my drop saw

At least one of the pads is contacting the stone at an angle. This results in very little contact/contact on the edge of the pad. Pads could be designed in a way to provide some freedom of movement so that the contact surface would conform better to the surface of the stone. If I owned one of these I'd make small wood pads to apply to each metal pad surface for some "crush" of wood to conform better to the stone shape. Not sure how to hold these on but I'd think of something. Metal to rock is not good. Also, this rock, as you have it now, is about one third to one half as secure as I want it to be at a minimum for safety. Other features and design really good as a starting point.
