Yea true but Ubisoft is publishers in the end. They have to accept whatever at this point cause they can’t delay a franchise like this. They just role with it. It be the devs who thought “this be great for assassins creed!” Cause these devs have so many cooks cooking not a lot of communication going on.

And then people who know japanese history are like oh hey its yasuke! dope! i have little faith in the series but yasuke is a really cool choice of protagonist and gamers are just racist 😂
I'm pretty sure most people know it's Yasuke, it's just the fact that being one of the only African men in Japan isn't a very stealthy choice for an assassin because everyone would know who you are. Imagine having an Assassin's Creed game take place 12th Century Mali Empire and the protagonist is a Japanese guy. Every Assassin's Creed game prior has been someone native to the location so that they can blend in with relative ease. That being said, I don't have an issue with making a Yasuke game, but I do find it a bit of an odd choice for an Assassin's Creed game (not that I care too much about the franchise in general).
He was a nobody. A merc who didn't even go to battle with Nobunaga. Dude was given a wakizashi. Not a katana. You know what those are for? Suicide. Nobunaga clearly expected Yasuke to kill himself if he fell in battle like he did with all his retainers. The game uses chinese architecture, they're trying to glorify the very literally darkest period of feudal Japan (did you forget that much of Nobunaga's reign was intentionally stricken from record because of his heinous actions? Bet you didn't) and they're making the only black character in the game turn criminal. How very progressive. Turn an African man who was raised in India and spoke no Japanese whatsoever into a criminal. So are they gonna cover when he gets sold back to slavers after Nobunaga dies?
I dont disagree with any of your historical analysis, it sounds like you know more about the series than I. I just have seen a lot of people with a lot less.... nuanced takes. This is sort of the joke of the video

People get more and more upset because of the pattern recognition from the same studios that admit they do it because of their personal believes and they just no longer care. Now why the hell should we care if we get called racist when that word means absolutely nothing? Remember the KCD thing? People should focus more on immersive storytelling instead of trying to desperately find the one black guy that was in medieval bohemia during that period to justify their agenda.
Ive actually never seen high level New World pvp so this was an eye opener. everything is so fast pace i can barely tell whats what. But it looks like you’re killing them and having a good time (:
Do you have to learn a horse riding skill? I can’t aim in the right direction and the horse moves like it’s limited to 15 degrees rotation ever 2 seconds. I keep ramming into trees and walls
It’s moving like a tank if you don’t have enough agility to turn more points in agility the better. You sometimes have to attack closer cause your character is taller and if fighting on hills not fun swinging
