I rescued an 1989 Montero a year ago and the previous owner said it has a blown head gasket. I confirmed it does so I am seeing my options for a replacement motor or rebuilding the current one. I am a fan of Monteros and I would love to see you guys revive and save this one. They are truly great SUVs and not to mention are becoming more and more sought after. Looking forward to this revival👍
I have a barn find 91' model with a blown engine. I got a used 50k engine from a FWD Plymouth Acclaim for the upcoming swap. They are great vehicles and wish they still made such a robust 4x4 especially if it had a diesel in the USA.
They were sold as the Pajero in Ireland, and the Shogun in the UK and parts of Europe. Petrol versons practically unknown over here, everything came with the 2.5 turbo diesel.
You really have to work hard to break a 727. It can be done though, I'm pretty confident I can do this in a short period of time. If you treat it even halfway decent, they go practically forever.
Funny , you did not install the 2 gaskets per side 1 foam gasket between the axel flange and backing plate and 1 steel gasket between the housing and backing plate,,,,see the FSM. Thats why you had so much play, cheers !
I absolutely love the AAR cars this one will be i am sure will be stunning but to say it is original is not fair other then a bit of the skeleton and front engine bay nothing is original these companies say they restore not true they build using new parts still a piece of auto history and amazing just call it as it is
Restore: return (someone or something) to a former condition, place, or position. You’re right, unless it’s a survivor, it’s not original. But, original and restore are two different words. We’re restoring. 👍🏼
On the dashboard, both AAR Cuda and TA Challenger came with standard dash, the rallye dash was optional. I seen in the late '70s both styles on both cars. Same thing on RT Challenger and 'Cuda.
I’m really enjoying this series! It looks like y’all have more mopars on the property! Please tell me this is going to turn into a full time mopar resto RU-vid show?
Keep the cowl vin reweld on to new vin use as much old original cowl as you can.car is in better starting condition than jennings at Jennings motorsports.he has two AARs both horribly bad one blue, one sassy grass 🍏 green.still waiting on his updated vids.his blue one is now metaled up.maybe he is waiting on parts.😊😅😂❤
