I am a bird photographer based in Virginia. I used Canon for 12 years before I switched to Nikon. I also use third party lenses to showcase their performance. My story with birds goes back to my childhood in Morocco, where I grew up. I was fascinated with how birds lived their lives parallel to ours! I am more amazed these days with how birds can navigate continents without a GPS! An extraordinary feat! The more I observe birds, the more I get to know about them. My plan is to photograph birds in my immediate neighborhood and post a slideshow of my best shots for my subscribers to enjoy. I will also try to talk about my way of approaching bird photography. Furthermore, I will occasionally review cheap equipment to help my viewers decide whether it is worth it to purchase a given item. Thanks a lot for your support.
Wow impressed. I find it difficult to handhold that same lens with the lighter z8. Do you use sports mode stab or standard mode? I have tried both and get better results using standard mode stabilization.
They are so incredibly small! A good illustration of that is the one in the far tree. He's smaller than the leaves. Though they are ferocious your video shows just how fragile they are even though they have evolved to survive most natural difficult situations. You've outdone yourself again! Love it.
Fantastic closeup Elarbi, Definitely five star! I have watched our Heron do the same with the Crayfish. I think they try to injure the Crayfish as much as they can and take the legs and nippers off before swallowing because the Crayfish continues to wiggle in their stomach for a while and the Herons don't want the nippers to cause internal injury. Just a theory🤔👍
Yes, I agree with your theory. A mature Green heron would certainly remove the legs and nippers before downing the rest! I have seen them do it! This juvie is learning! I will try to dig in my library for a mature dealing with a Crayfish. Thanks my friend!
A video about sound! That's an interesting concept. I like that angle. Working with sound is a whole new dimension and so vital for our senses to feel the moment visual images present to us. I especially like the owl at the end. It creates a strong ambiance👍
What to do, what to do?? Poor baby! Did he eventually get it down ? Blasted crayfish, not cooperating. Perfect example of wildlife lives. More like this.
It was off the paved path between the golf course and the bridge! I went three times looking for it before I spotted! Since I am grounded I am digging out the old stuff! lol!
I have never seen either wasps or a nest like this. In Australia we have many species of wasps including some very large Hornets but although they pack a punch when they sting they only do so as a last resort like if if someone steps on it or something like that. They never attack and we like having their nests around our house because they make sure there are no spiders hanging off the rafters of our verandah. So if these are aggressive I take it you left your Macro in the bag this time 😁👍
Certainly! I was quite happy to be at a good distance! I was shooting at 600mm in crop mode, 900mm. Thanks for your comment my friend! They are very good at eliminating spiders!
Love the Egrets and the snakes Elarbi, thanks for sharing these lovely images. On DSLR's, yes they are entirely relevant and many of my own best images were taken with a 12 MP D700, one of my favourite cameras, even today. The tech companies which now include the camera manufacturers, will run support down I would think as they can only sustain themselves through constant sales and the new mirrorless market should provide that. I do love the new tech that these systems bring though and with Nikon and the FTZ I can still use my old AIS lenses which is great.
Nice footage again Elarbi, especially as it's taken with a super zoom lens. It's amazing what can be achieved with a consumer lens in skilled hands. Thanks for posting this, interesting. 😊
Thanks a lot! It’s a very capable lens, especially when the light is bright! I usually hit the trails two hours before sunset, f8 would push me towards ISO 6400 to get a decent shutter speed. There is always a compromise! Have a good day!
Hello, greetings Elarbi! My dear "Mr. Choral Club" these are wonderful shots! I love these macro shots with your 180-600mm lens! Your photos (Film)in particular always tell me that I should definitely buy this lens sooner or later! !Happy Sunday and greetings Matthias👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
Hello Elarbi, beautiful images of these insects and of high quality. When the springbirds are leaving here it is the time for me to concentrate on butterflies, dragonflies and other insects. Very well filmed!! Greetings Gijs
Hello, greetings! 🦅Wonderful! With the 180-600 mm lens, you can apparently not only take great photos, but also film them!👍 Kind regards, Matthias👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
