Heather Orth is an extraordinary talent, and her rendition of this song is my go-to-song when I'm melancholy, the kick in the ass I need sometimes when I'm feeling old and obsolete and irrelevant, and a subtle power anthem I listen to on repeat and sing along!
First heard her sing this for the Sondheim 90th birthday tribute last year, & she had the same piano retune then - everybody assumed she had forgotten the note but hearing it here it's clear (to me anyway) that this is part of her act. Singer jokes. Gotta love 'em.
