Racism is a system and it operates in all areas of peoples activity 24 hours a day; economic; education; entertainment; labor; law; politics; religion; sex; and war. We didn’t create the system but we all live in the system!
Absolutely racism become systemized and insidious. Our point is simply that the root cause is the favoritism we all are taught to have. It doesn’t excuse it but can help to understand it.
It is the Africans who participated in selecting neighboring African tribes for the transatlantic slave trade. Racism is REAL and you are not of the enslaved and have attached to European mindsets where you are free to alter the word racism to favorites. My experience with the Africans has not been good, some of them prefer to show superiority to the descendants of the enslaved Africans.
Yes this is true, and even then when tribes were selling each other, it was still favoritism to my tribe vs. yours. Racism is real, and the effects are profound. What we are talking about is how the mind gets there and if we can get to the root cause (Favoritism), then we have a chance of changing it. By allowing yourself to favor vanilla over chocolate, we build the acceptance of the concept of favoritism and lose our power to be in choice when it comes to the important stuff, like racism. It’s interesting how you guys say that one of the problems that can lead to a troubled marriage is ‘having EXPECTATIONS that are not COMMUNICATED…’ while most people would say expectations that are not MET. It definitely highlights the cause and effect relationship here and places the blame where it should be.
