Founded in 2014, opheliasbluevinefarm.com strives to bring fresh herbs to the Kansas City metro. Our Grandmother, Miss Ophelia, is the inspiration behind everything we do. As a single Black mother, she raised 6 children and put them through college. Two of which went on to play in the NFL.
It’s safe to say she never settled for second best that’s why we don’t either. We never let a pack of herbs leave our greenhouse if we don’t think Miss Ophelia would call it excellent.
We are proud to call Kansas City’s 18th & Vine District home. Our urban greenhouse is nestled among historic spots that helped bring jazz music to the world. We take pride in our neighborhood and want to build up the community that surrounds it
We continually strive to better the world and our neighborhood by committing to sustainable farming practices and community pride initiatives. We partner with other local businesses to use food waste for biofuel to heat our greenhouse or compost it into healthy fertilizer.

@thazen73 I have never seen it work on grasshoppers. Maybe if they are extremely small like just barely hatched. Their is definitely better things. I started using these oats that are poisonous to them. Seems to work pretty well. I think this guy doesn't really know what a grasshopper infestation is or looks like.

Update: Adjust the recipe by combining one jar of peanut butter with a quarter of a baking soda container. Place the mixture near mouse frequented areas, like next to the inside of the door. Check for signs of nibbling; if minimal, tweak the ratio-less baking soda or more peanut butter. Cheers mate for the tip. Now if I recall rightly Dandelions perk up your soil a load by having ridiculously deep roots but they tend to disappear once they have made your soil more productive although the leaves are great in a salad. Personally, rather than buying fertilizer my strategy is less complicated: I live by the sea hence I have Gulls on my roof, I don't know if you know much about Gulls but they are like a flying cow in that they shit copious amounts all over the place. I collect the rain water and the subsequent moss and let it rot a for a while in a large water butt. Works well enough for me. I have a friend that uses fish-tank water and fermented nettles which seems to work well for him. I suppose its a case of using what you got. Best Wishes Bruv
