This is my favourite poem. Read this years ago and it made me cry. I was much younger and the world hadn't the chance to get its claws into me. But now even in chains it moves me..moves me even more.
Because I'm nuts! and the fact that he was the father of neurology and an actor are telling. Just kidding. Maybe. Anyway, I rarely look into the man or woman behind a poem; I usually find the poems that I think would be good and cite them. Interesting, man, he is.

Absolutely! We have such expansive languages at our fingertips, yet still struggle to express our feelings, intents, and meanings. It's through the works of others we can sometimes find the right words.
Hi, I was wondering, what book is this from? My grandfather is Oscar Pumarejo, this brought me so much joy! I have one of his books titled Cosas Humanas with poems in Spanish.
Yeah. It is a good poem. I think he might have submitted it to a company called Poetry.com...which no longer is in business. They put out submissions that people send them. Sorry that I have no other information, as I no longer have the book. He was a good poet.

@ravenpumarejo4071 I don't know for sure. It could be one I had called 'New American Poetry Anthology. That one was a big, red hardcover. I hope it was the correct one.
