Intense, stylish and funny gameplay video's. Vanquish player. I like a variety of action games and other genres and on this channel you can find a good amount of Vanquish related content, ranging from combo MAD and freestyle video's, to tactical challenge speedruns, boss fights and some informative tutorials.
You got those spawns on lockdown. Awesome playing. Im about 2 hours into this game and love it so far. What are some of your favorite weapons or tips for the early game?
I stuck with variations of this build and weapons throughout my playthrough so can't comment much on other playstyles. Started using shotgun early on. I feel like it allows you to focus more easily on evading and movement then with most automatic weapons that you have to hold down and manage reloading. Think the strongest ones are called Zimmermans. I stuck with melee swords in my left hand throughout. Compliments the shotgun and great against bosses and for stunning and quickly filling enemy stagger meter. I like homing rockets/missiles on the shoulders, or some area of effect explosion for crowds, to fire from mid range or before closing in. Sometimes a strong single shot cannon. You'll get some of those homing shoulder missiles really early on. Sometimes it's best to swap to an energy type weapon to break down enemy shields, like against the first real boss, Balteus. You can run a tank type build that's slow and less mobile but can take a lot of hits, or be light and agile, allowing for a lot of movement and fast strafing at the cost of having less HP, or something in between. There are lots of viable builds and weapons.
@@ZikosRealmGreat feedback. Very nice. I like the versatility of the game so far. I will definately experiment with some different set ups and try to find something that compliments my playstyle. Will have to check out the shotguns too. I havent come across anything challenging yet, but Im still on the first chapter.
@@theconsolekiller7113 Yeah it's a really fun game. The parts, stats and all the numbers can get overwhelming at times. Can't really remember any of the names and specifics anymore lol.
@@ZikosRealm That makes sense, ha ha. I look forward to researching the stats and weapons, builds as the game becomes challenging. That's usually when I dig deeper into a game.
Yeah it's a really cool setup. Was fun experimenting with the LFE shenanigans. Might be as close as we'll get to juggling combo's in Vanquish. Thanks man. ✌
Bro, thank you. Kept getting As over and over and over again. Saw your video, dovetailed off your concept, and nailed it: Zimmerman Butta Vvc-703PM (the single shot on each shoulder) Mind Beta head Nachtreiher core and arms Firmeza leggies Alula Ocellus Hokushi Assault Armor
Good stuff man. You'll get the hang of it over time. There's a bit of leeway in the spacing so it's not super strict. Setup method example with rolling back & forth is pretty consistent but not fool proof. It's more of a matter of timing instead of pure spacing, to account for the pushback from enemy hitstun.
@@ZikosRealm Yeah. I'm noticing that sometimes I lose all XP if it isn't timed right or I get confused and select the wrong weapon during the animation.
@@delancyj67 You can also whiff from a little bit further away then ''boost roll + 2 steps'' , but usually not from closer. So when still learning you can try whiffing from the outermost range when closing in on the enemy, to be on the safe side.
Def some stuff that I've never done before either. Experimenting with the new LFE shenanigans was a lot of fun and my main motivation to make this one. I also started incorporating the backflip whiff without slow-motion, to recover a chunk of the AR bar, allowing for longer chains and more variation. Still have some minor ideas to experiment with but that's something for another time. Thanks man!
Yeah sadly nothing has ever matched it in the shooting genre. It was called the future of TPS games back when it released so I expected to see more TPS/action hybrids going forward, instead of Vanquish itself still being the pinnacle 14 years later.
I think it was back in 2012 or 2013 when VanQuish was free on PlayStation Plus for the PS3. I downloaded the game and then I played it. It's actually pretty damn good. Definitely screams Platinum.
Yeah it's a new variation on the LFE version. There's been a couple of cool new discoveries in the past couple of years. Never know what's next with these types of games.
Got you covered man. Made a little spacing practice vid that also shows what I think is a good and consistent ''beginner friendly'' setup method that can be used during play. Thanks man 🙏
Yeah they really were on a roll back then. Those 3 titles felt like instant classics to me from the moment they released. Something special and distinctively Platinum about them. Was fully expecting that kind of output to be the future going forward. Love TF Devastation & their Nier Automata colab too. ✌
That is so silly. It's a good find either way. It's kind of like they are a puppet now, or I guess you could call it a voodoo doll trick. It looks like the limb lingers for a very long time too. Trying to find applications for it other than in combos will be interesting. Maybe it'll be good for crowd control.
Wouldn't have happened without you man. Thanks. Yeah pretty cool having even more options with HMG and LFE. Really versatile tools. Still some variations and experimentation left to be done. You mentioned air push so I went with ''LFE air push juggle'' for the time being and lack of a better term. ✌
The Disk Launcher melee only uses ammo. We can launch Romanov type enemies without overheating with Heavy Machine Gun & Anti Armor pistol, with the neutral backflip melee, by whiffing from a specific distance. Also works against Romanov OHKO missiles and Bogey cluster grenades. We can also melee Buzzard's hands without overheating. And we can Melee Unknown's body as long as we don't connect with the red core. There's a Vanquish tricks and techniques tutorial on my channel if you're interested in learning more.
I had someone do this to me in PVP yesterday. Oh my God I was so annoyed. I honestly have this spell too, but I only use it once or twice in a whole dual. And only if they have Chip damage left, but this guy literally spammed it six or seven times when I get spawned in.
Yeah it feels like such a waste of time going up against someone who abuses it. Glad this player showed their true colours early so I could nope out during spawn invincibility lol. Pretty ridiculous spell for Souls standards and philosophy. Don't think there's ever been anything before that couldn't be dodged consistently or dealt with by other means.
@ZikosRealm eternal darkness kinda helps. Maybe if thops was quicker or lasted just a half second longer. I make it my mission to beat these spam nerds when I can. cant cast anything when my sword is in your mouth
I wonder if Crystal Viper units are based on Crystal Boy, a villain and arch-enemy of Space Bounty Hunter Cobra from "Cobra". I know that Hideki Kamiya is a fan of said manga series (he admitted that Cobra was a prime inspiration for Dante), but don't know about Mikami... Although they ARE friends and colleagues, so... Who knows. P.S. Nice video. Super-sonic space trolling simulator :3
Not entirely but it does have good i-frames. You can see Viper hit me 1 time during that animation. I believe it always pushes my health into the yellow without causing any hitstun, similar to when he scrapes you with the particles around his actual sword. So, I think we can't be pushed fully into the red damage triggered AR mode when Viper hits us during certain parts of that cover hop animation.
