Having come from a large Italian family in New York, I was raised with two notions; Love of food - “Amore del cibo”, and Love of family - “Amore del familia”. My grandmother and aunts provided me with a foundation based on tradition & pride of my heritage. My best memories were always made in their kitchens. Now I cook for my husband and for an occasional small dinner party. As I cook, I wrap myself in the treasured memories. I can almost hear my familia laughing, conjoling, and planning the next Sundays’ meal before this one had even concluded. See, because these aren’t just recipes. It’s not ingredients, or temperatures, or timing. It’s not just food, It’s love made edible.

Hey can I use pompeian grape seed oil to season the pan or what oil is recommended to season. I just bought a pre seasoned pan from lodge and I’m just looking at it clueless at what to do first. Should I first wash it first with soap? Then what oil should I use after washing?
@@thechubbyhubby1650 I have one more question! When I wipe my cast iron with paper towel or towel after cooking and cleaning. The entire paper towel is black! What is this black residue? Like the entire towel is black after wiping it including my fingers! Is this black stuff safe? The skillet is only a week old and I’ve cooked on it 3x. Is this normal?
