Hello Mates, I'm building and painting 1/35th scale armour models. My focus is on German vehicles only. I'm an amateur so don't expect to see fine art on my channel. Against all, I do believe in growing my channel and my skills organically and over time. Therefore, I reward growth with improvements in my video filming, editing and overall dedication to this project on every milestone.
Approval and critics are not requested but allowed on this channel, just keep it friendly and beneficial for all sides. That’s all, just have fun with my videos and build a model kit.
went from building kits to making them. That's my reality not advertisement. Making YT videos is very time consuming and expensive with little return, don't blame the creators for a system where 10% of the channels share 90% of the revenue.
Däd's gu'ged, gel'! Han emole wieder bie Dir nogugged! Bischd scho e glasche Kerle, Kai! Mach' nur weider so! Med emme gudgemeunde nächliche Adele un Ahoi! Dein Freund Claus - J.
i meld mi nochamol die andere dech. mei fra hat bald bei dir ums eck a längers geschäft zu erlediche, bin am gucke ob i do vielleicht rum kumme kou. wäre gescheider als ibers indernet.
I bought one of these a couple of years ago. they must of had a problem at the factory with the mold injectors on that day. my kits problems were mostly questionable fit here and there. in the end my model turned out pretty nice. ( i worked at the old Revell model factory in Venice ca. USA in the late 1970's so i have a little experience on the subject) Happy Modelling everybody !
Wow! I thought I was the only one that had paint splatter (13:12). Great job on the assembly and painting. As for the tracks and guide horns, the Meng Panther has individual guide horns that Do Not line up with the tracks as the Takom tracks do. What a task.
Notice the difference that Theater, weather and air superiority play on how scale models should look. With this Tiger, it’s in a dry, arid, hot environment where air superiority is still in play. Contrast that with the late war Jagdtiger I’m finishing: these behemoths were operating in bad weather, had to travel mostly at night and hide in cover and concealment due to Allied air superiority and due to both weather, Theater (Eastern and Western) together with a need to evade British Typhoons and US P-47’s, the ultimate condition of such a vehicle is a total beat down disaster. Thus, this creator, who did an excellent job, not only portrayed his artistic license, but also stayed true to conditions.
I'd break it down to the availability of supportive logistics. If both you and your maintenance company is on the run, it's showing in the equipment for sure. The books "Repairing the Panzers" are very good in adding substance to the context you brought up.
For a very long time. I wasn't happy with my setup, audio sucked, voice over took too much time... Past 2 weeks I've redone my video bench from ground up though... I'm uploading much more often now.
danke Dir.
It's called primer. Isn't it. Dark Yellow is an ocher, not a Yellow, therefore going red for an undercoat is not necessary. Not painting Warhammer 40K Imperial Fists here. ; )
@@nikolajc7617You're not telling me anything new. On the modelling / crafts side: An Ocher is opaque, a yellow translucent. With opaque paint your base coat can be any neutral color, on translucent colors you need a primer / base coat that works for the later shadows. That's why you better paint red under yellow but you don't have to when using ocher.
@@nikolajc7617Yes, I know. You're not telling me anything new by repeating this ; ) Still it does not matter for the result as scale model with the paints I used to get the Tropentarn established, that's what I'm trying to tell you.
@Tankbrusher Scale Did Italeri give the CORRECT type of Idler Wheel for their Pz.Kpf. i Ausf B kit? The Idler Wheel of the Ausf B was distinctively DIFFERENTE from the Ausf A Idler Wheel.
If they did any camouflage on the Tiger it would have been the Tropen pattern. However, since the DAK formed and left for Africa in February 1941 they were initially in Panzer Grey scheme and while there dust and mud applied when able. No Tigers were in Panzer Grey or Dark Green in Africa. The paint later used from March 41-43 (North Africa-Southern Europe) would have been 2/3 RAL 8000 and 1/3 RAL 7008 in matt finish. On 25 March 1942, Inspectorate 2 ordered that gelbbraun and graugrün were to be replaced by brown (braun RAL 8020) and gray (grau RAL 7027) once existing paint stocks were depleted, using the same pattern. This comes from sources of Allgemeine Heeresmitteilungen, Bruce Culver (3 great books by the way called Panzer Colors I-III) Jentz, and Doyle.
It's a Wehrmacht vehicle. Not an SS one. These were "independ battalions" -> Abteilung; attached to larger fromations, so there could be devisional markings. The 501 had a stalking tiger as personal unit insigna, not sure when this came up - with this vehicle we are right at the beginning. I'll have a close look after christmas and report back in a week.
Mike is the king imo. Very few people build to the level of realistic weathering that he achieves. His newer techniques are very helpful and he has really changed my perspective on weathering.
I have seen pictures of that Tiger in Libya numbered 724 ! No fenders on the sides. Mudgards on front made by the crew. Plugged shellholes on turret and on the side of the superstructure.
Yeah, that's a famous picture set. There is one in front of a roman theater with natives posing next to it. I got the Dragon Kit for that one, it's on my bucket list! The one i build in that video is placed earlier in the time line, just after arrival.
Danke.
Very detailed and informative program............. It's the first time I'm hearing about the solid guide horn.........the add on cleats.......so they would get knocked off like the winterketten on the panzer 3 and 4?
Thanks. The bovington tank museum has a vid about where they show their solid guide horn link. The Mittelstollen use the same locking mechanism, same dimentions as the Panzer III / IV ones did. There are even more variants within these accessories, I didn't talk about some experimental stuff like Bergegreifer (oversized Mittelstollen for Recovery vehicles). Very niche and nerd though xD
Not that I know. This one was delivered from the factory to Fallingbostel's baracks as far as I know. For demonstrations the 3 V-series vehicles are better candidates - not an expert though. In April '42 only V1 was "ready" in April '43 already about 200 vehicles were produced. This one was in the east at that time - therefore I guess this one never was at any birthday presentations for the person in question.
Hi, I can't exactly recall because I just grab what looks right : / Abt. 502 Industrial earth; Dust; Buff are 3 go-to colors of mine. On the enamel side: earth, dry light soil and Kursk soil are 3 of my favorits (Ammo by Mig). Thought process is to select or mix 3 color dark to light and space them evenly. Same for Pigments for example.
@@Tankbrusher Of course I guess it's not easy to remember, thanks a lot for the help, really kind, now I'll get the material and try even if it will be difficult 😅
