There could be disablements and they should have been recorded in the log book along with the reason why the area was disabled. Generally disablements are temporary.
Hi Adil, your Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) contract is generally (99% of the time) set up by your alarm maintenance company and they will have the telephone number you can call to put it [your alarm system] on test. Sometimes an App is available for testing your system and is handy if you are the person doing the weekly test.
Hi Adil, the Gent Vigilon/SQUAD is well thought of, flexible and reliable combination of control panel and detection. The origins of the Vigilon date back to the Gent 3400 and 34000 which is about 30+ years old, and although the protocol hasn’t essentially changed a great deal, it has evolved, which in my opinion is a good thing. The cost of ownership is higher than open protocol systems such as Apollo or Hochiki. I estimate that the user would pay 20% more throughout its [a fire alarm system] typical lifetime, which is mainly down to the restricted market model that Gent systems are brought to market.
@@adilhossain8198 We don’t have any experience with that product, therefore can’t assist you with an opinion. I would advise contacting Bosch directly a nd I’m sure they’ll be able to assist you.
Hi Nraklab, you can set the system with a fob or a code and unset the system with a fob or code. Therefore if you only have a code that is a perfectly acceptable way to set and unset the system. I hope that this helps. Paul
HI Ben. Yes is the answer, and it is explained at the end of the video with a short clip of the actual key with its reference number printed on it. If you'd like any engineering assistance we are in the office from 08:00-17:00 week days (excluding bank holidays). Paul
Hi Milan, any intruder alarm if designed and set up properly can detect intruders. Communicating this to you can be achieved in many different ways and depends on the manufacturer, your insurers requirements and what you are looking for. Typically we fit Dualcom units within the intruder alarm and they will alert a monitoring station of an activation and contact you or your nominated key-holder and the police if this has been set up. There are also APP based connections for convenience, although these aren't considered as real monitoring as there as they aren't secure and often clients have both.
The correct procedure would be to use the laptop as this would give you the backup needed in the event of a system panel failure. You’d delete the device from the Xpander and add the replacement accordingly.
@@wirefreeprotection Led is a boring, cheaply made light the good old fluorescents can last over 80 years as long as they have lamp replacements every 20 years or so especially on magnetic ballasts LEDs however only last about ten years then u have to buy an entire new fixture
@@FinlaysFireSystemsElectrical Thank you for commenting and explaining. That's really interesting what you say! We're finding people are making savings of thousands per year, one down from £9k in electricity bills to £5k in a year. Longevity-wise is contentious but with 5+ years of warranty and the cost savings made in the duration, it's made sense so far for who we've helped. It's interesting to know other people's experiences and takes on it though!
@@wirefreeprotection I like it, my old panel kinda blew up lol so i ordered this with the box and upgraded the PIR'S ,my pal is an alarm engineer so he installed and upgraded it all for me, the main box is up in the attic out the way so can't be tampered with, I like the fact that it can inter link smoke detectors giving a different tone when it goes off but I have to get it looked at as 2 of the zones on the fire side go into tamper mode setting off full alarm the bedroom and the living room so that needs looked at the rest of it is fine lol
Hi Mike, There isn't a category of fire alarm called 'L1X' or similar. What's the context of this so we can try to determine what you need help with?/Where did you hear this? Kind regards, Verity Head of Comms at WFP
Excellent instruction vlog I’ve been asked to test one of these models on a regular basis, I just need the keys 🔑 before I get started, kind regards and thank you Mark from Billericay 😀👍🇬🇧☀️
Thank you for the comment Mark, we’re planning to do more videos in the future. Let us know if you need keys as we’re only around the corner. You could pop in and pick some up. Call us on 01277 622932 and ask for our Mark (Harris).
Hi Sebastian, Yes we can, however these systems are not our system of choice (if you are referring to opting for it for a new installation). If you'd like more info on this or help with an installation for your fire alarm, please call us on 01277 724 653. Thank you! Kind regards, Verity Head of Comms at WFP
Hi Filimoni, Thank you for your question. The answer is both, depending on the fire alarm. If it's Ampac then this would need to be done via a laptop and then uploaded. Your fire alarm engineer would do this during the installation/commissioning process. If you need help or have any further questions, please contact us on 01277 724 653. Kind regards, Verity Head of Comms at WFP
Thank you for asking. On this system they are loop driven sounders in the form of Apollo integrated sounder bases and wall mounted Apollo open area sounders.
Hi John, We can certainly help with that and have a number of videos on our channel relating to fire alarm testing, although many are for customers' benefits rather than engineers. Does your current company support with training? We have an in-house training academy, as well as access to courses run by the Fire Industry Association. If you're looking for opportunities, please check out this page w-fp.co.uk/jobs/ Kind regards, Verity Head of Comms at WFP
Absolutely right! An essential part of testing your fire alarm isn't just to make sure it sounds when you set it off, but to also make sure the fire alarm panel knows where the alarm has been set off. Why? Because the Fire Brigade will look at your fire alarm panel upon arriving to the scene (as it should be located by the front door), and that will tell them where the fire is. Similarly, someone managing the system and evacuating everyone should know where the fire alarm has been activated in the building. E.g. Second Floor, Manager's Office. Thank you for commenting, Pixie71!
Hello, I have an xpander combined sounder base that isn’t connecting to an xpander diversity unit, it comes up with Please Retry when pairing. Could this be down to the unit being used previously on another diversity unit? This is coming from an enthusiast by the way I’ve just gotten into the wireless sector of fire alarms.
Thank you for your comment! It shouldn't matter if you've used the CMB on a different diversity unit in the past, you can programme it up to a new unit and it should pair just fine *thumbs up*
