Good lanes these, just seen your previous comment about the peoole who live in the mill farm houses. Not the most friendly of people, you hit the nail on the head. Best to ride straight out to the main road.
I've "met" them once, a few years ago now when i was doing some reconnaissance and plotting a route before I rode the lanes. Best to avoid them really and not engage with them.
I'd seen videos and thought I'd avoid it in the winter. It's boggy in the summer still so not sure it gets any better. Davey wants to do it in the snow!

@mykheaton . Yeah it's that just incase scenario... you never know of something is gonna break on the bike or self....and be left stranded without help or a phone signal
@mykheaton I had a ride up scugdale this afternoon. Got about as far as you did then turned around. I was on my own and didn't want it going pear shaped on me. Next time though 🤟🏻
No mate, nearly every video of someone using a gopro has complaints about the gopro lol. I have a Insta 360 camera. Well two of them actually. The x2 and the x4. Both are cool though :)
Good video. We did this lane(old coach road) a couple of weeks ago on triumph 1200 scramblers. That down hill section is tricky with the loose stones. As always, the camera doesn't do it justice how steep it is.
@mykheaton yes it is, it's the water level and width of that crossing that through me off. Usually a tro during the winter isn't there anyway? Was shut for some time a couple of years ago. It's a good lane. Gets nick name 1000 gates for a reason ha 😅
@rallyedan1066 Hopefully, I guess we'll see when it happens. This would be the best lane in the moors but for all those gates wouldn't it. I think some are there just to discourage us... lol
I saw your video and analyzed your RU-vid channel and maybe you are quite worried about the growth of your RU-vid channel. Because the quality of your content is good your channel has many videos but your video SEO optimization area has a lot of workspace so videos can't reach the targeted audience as a result video views, likes, and subscribers don't increase accordingly. If you update your video optimization issues, that will help increase your video views, likes, and subscribers organically and rank on RU-vid and Google's first search page. I analyzed your videos to see why there aren't views growing and found many issues. If you want to talk about it please reply to me
@@mykheaton I have been working as a social media marketer and RU-vid growth specialist for the last three years. I will do some videos free of SEO optimization and don't have to pay for it. If you get good results after the work and are satisfied, then we can pay me
Enjoyed this, love it around that area, just sold my Africa twin so no bike for now, was considering a scrambler xe , only concern is the keyless hassle, 👍
Aw thanks. I got rid of my africa twin for this 2020 XE and have no regrets. I just turn the key on and put it in a pocket for the rest of the day unless I need to lock the steering which isn't often. I leave the fuel cap unlocked.
Ta for the reply, how much of a difference do you feel performance wise between the crf1000 & the 1200 scrambler on the road, I can’t go off road bad back haha 👍
@WheelieGood-el2br I had the CRF1100. Obviously there's a difference but the Triumph has way more low down grunt and pulls harder from low down. It's not half as top heavy either.
@Kicacanalong These roads came from a time before motor vehicles, some are drovers roads - from shepherd's moving their animals, some are from Roman times. If they are used enough they get maintained and resurfaced. If they aren't used they are left as dirt roads. I wouldn't like to take a car on some but people do. It must be a nightmare for them...
@@mykheaton lucky there wasn’t a car coming the other way as the road dipped near the second car and would have hidden any oncoming cars. Was a study move
@@mykheaton i jumped straight on a fazer 1000 i love it to bits but round here its like trying to drive a f1 car on the street lol i really want to get out and explore green lanes etc.. but no idea where to start.
@sensiblestoner5766 Well there's plenty where you are bud. Get a little off roader. I have a crf 250l Maybe join GLASS to get their map of legal lanes, or join the TRF or Northern Adventure bike riders on Facebook if you want to ride with people :)
I own a Honda CMX500 Rebel, I am currently convincing my wife that I need a second bike for this sort of stuff, thinking of getting the Honda CRF300L Rally....I shall use this video as my reason why. 😂😂
@mykheaton Well, I use my Rebel for commuting, touring (in hotels), and Sunday rides. I've wanted to get into some more off-road trips similar to what you are doing in the video. Also, fancy some off-road courses near me, so it will probably be used for that. And a second bike for commuting if I don't fancy the rebel or it's in for MOT etc.
I recognise where you go in by the gate and cottage. Ive ridden that part (but then gone up a tricky bit back to the road. That was closed for a year.). Did you miss that bit and go straight on, dont recognise the rest
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fpOTZa1ReXw.htmlsi=6a8mDw7W8aUfJ3y1 This is it in full mate and Gives a better idea but goes on from the south side, Lowna.
Thats actually illegal.. thats called lane splitting because the traffic is moving... if it was stationary that would be filtering.. your putting your own life in danger passing people like that.. idiotic
Think again... might wanna re-check the highway code... filtering is through stationary traffic which is legal... lane splitting is through moving traffic which is an offence @mykheaton
@lifeofrileyofficial24-7 You're still wrong. We're allowed to filter through held up traffic so long as we aren't going too fast and we need to be careful, When filtering through standing traffic we actually need to have somewhere to get to safely but you won't know that either. The Americans call it 'lane splitting" our highway code refers to it as filtering.
Okay mate u keep doing that 👍 I'm UK BTW not American and a UK biker myself .. cutting in-between 2 moving cars is lane splitting end of story...traffic cop sees it your getting a ticket... filtering is stationary traffic that means its come to a total stop. Which is legal to filter through to the front.
@@lifeofrileyofficial247 You're wrong. Take your own advice and read the code so you don't look this silly again. You could even post the rule here if you like.
Hi, do you have pin location for this, I can't for the life of me remember if its darnholm or Goathland, came across your videos on Facebook. Great videos and reels.
I've had a chat with him and he's agreed to go to uni to find a course on physics, maybe sports physics. Sorry about this. Stick around and see if he beats me afterwards :)
