Hi, and welcome to my channel. In this channel I will upload rare music that isn't available on RU-vid, mainly audio and video recordings of concerts but also other presentations of music like album uploads, music videos or interviews. Enjoy ;)
@@TheMusicalElitist They aren’t even remotely a favorite band of mine, but to say they aren’t note worthy is clearly false. My frequent and favorite bands lean towards Failure or The Mars Volta tbh. Doesn’t matter anyways, I don’t think there’s a need to care when listening to someone that labels themselves “elitist.” Whether ironically or not, it demonstrates itself a lack of taste and innate bias.
I’m so sick of people saying Swans were never as good without Jarboe, every iteration of Swans is awesome, change is good, in 2024 they are as soul moving and powerful as ever, get over hankering for the past (my opinion), Swans are the greatest band of my lifetime period, I saw the Vekvets in Europe on their brief reform tour and they were not impressive as I’d hoped, they were the fathers of all the😮😅 music I love but failed in that tour, Swans have never failed, simply the best modern electric music ever created and performed, I will trust Michael Gira whatever he gives me, my spiritual genius
I was at the Los Angeles show of this tour. The Final Sacrifice was delicate, loud, mesmerizing, bewildering, difficult, mysterious, revolting, and incredible. I had enjoyed Swans for several years, but from that moment on, they became the ultimate music that no other band could satisfy in my mind. In London last year, the sound still conjures the same feelings and emotions.
There is no glitch at the end of Empty Friend on the master. Hopefully there are not any other glitches either. In honor of the 30th anniversary, my master is launching tonight.... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rbFi2UpAN_4.html
If you followed indie rock from the late 90’s into the early aughts, in my opinion this band encapsulated what it was we, as musicians and audiences of the genre, were hoping would come to fruition. I’m glad that I got to see them play out a couple of times at The Knitting Factory in Los Angeles, The Silverlake Lounge, and at Sunset Junction. I also liked how they lacked the stuffy pretension that most underground bands at that time suffered from. Great band.
As I recall I got tipped off on a Failure related message board that this Autolux live bootleg was floating around. I don't recall exactly where from but I was able to download the full show. I since long ago had that go down with the demise of a hard drive but fortunately I had burned a disc, which I have packed away somewhere. Among the various uploads of that disc and file transfers, I did end up with this bootleg in my Apple Music library but due to a glitch it got partially wiped (some tracks remain on various playlists). So the long and short of it is I was pleasantly surprised to see this pop up on my recommended listening on RU-vid music. It's still the best recording of anything Autolux has ever done. I'm pretty sure Greg was tripping out at this show and he's never sounded better.
mmhmm, this would be a good one made official. I especially liked Yrp here when I never paid it much mind in other forms. Also Alcohol the Seed--a song I really didn't like too much, here is just crazy. I had to pause it for a second, thinking I had multiple noisy albums playing at once somehow.
i've said this before, but i've always found it funny that when touring The Great Annihilator, they played majority Soundtracks stuff (an album that wouldnt come out for a few years), and when touring Soundtracks, they barely played any. I know how the Swans tour cycles work, but still funny to me. Annihilator never got a proper tour. But, imo, quality of setlists and all that, Swans Are Dead captured their best live era. but jesus christ, the amount of people that talk... i saw Swans a few weeks back, and holy shit, the amount of people that talk during a show during the performance... wtf?! Like, here, Lavender is playing, a gorgeous, slow, quieter song, and I can hear convos going on. get it together, people.
I have been a fan from Failure. Everything he does is fantastic. TOOL wouldn fuk with him oth3rwise. Get the DVD and all the albums. Failure is legit as legit is.
i thought there was, but the download of it circulating the internet actually seems to be a totally different concert? timestamps and audio do not match up and the set is split into two halves, with part 1 and part 2 being on their respective mp3s. weird.
@@merzmeow fuck, sounds terrible. By the time I post that, I've found on reddit a link with a collection of songs from this concert and other songs, but it wasn't complete
Same here! Just read Andy Reynold’s comment about this show and had to look it up! I’ve been reading this for months now because of how often I get sidetracked looking something up
