actually Bjorler is credited with this one, Alf had some of the stranger numbers like Through Gardens of Grief, Claws of Laughter Dead.. forgot who did Within, that one's probably the GOAT
I would say half and half. This was a festival show (many people went to see other bands) and this was a reunion show (many young people didn't know AT THE GATES because they had released their latest record in 1995, this was 2008). But yeah, a lot of them were fans (you can tell because of the singing of the people at the front in the silent parts)
Just that intro kills! their best album. I think you've to get into the red in the sky album as a whole no a song per song is a full masterpiece ALBUM...
Tomas' voice just doesn't have that character of utter despair in his voice. Sounds kind of ordinary here. About as far away from insanity as you can get.
@Quorthon888 The vocals detract from the song a bit... it's as though he didn't have his growl/scream (I'm not exactly sure what I'd call Tomas' voice) quite right at that point.
I disagree that this is better than the CD version, the band too don't really like the sound on the CD either - but I think that different sound, the different aesthetics and audio phrasings make it sound much nicer. This version, although awesome, has more of a modern metal feeling to it, whereas I think the original recording of it stands alone. It feels more urgent, more insane.
i have the original DVD.. and belive me all the audio is 100% live with no overdubs.... Only a great band like at the gates could make something like this....
