I'm trying to understand why I keep seeing mammogram facilities being called women's imaging when everyone knows men get breast cancer? I find the lack of inclusivity highly disturbing. If the tables were turned women wouldn't stand for being referred to as a man when trying to review medical treatment. Breast imaging is a perfectly logical name for this. Referring to men as women is insulting and may deter men from seeking treatment.
My 2 hida scans with CCK showed less than 2% result…….then i had a HIDA at another facility and they gave me an Ensure drink ( saying they did not have any CCK. The result was 70+%. Can you explain the different results??
Yes. Period is not important but if you try to have a baby, in that specific month, the ovulation period is very important. If you somehow received radiation in your ovulation phase, you might try to skip that month and delay your possible pregnancy to the next month. This way your potential baby wouldn’t be “fried” by radiation as a fetus 😅
Hi. I had a bone scan done and it shows blood pool and flow in both feet; left greater than right; inflammatory process nonspecific. Can you recommend a doctor/specialist for me to see? My rheumatologist is unsure of the next step. Been suffering with bilateral leg weakness due to my feet; also Achilles tendonitis that won’t heal; plantar fac won’t heal and tendons ligaments hurt and constant spasms and tension in lower areas affecting my upper legs from compensating. over pronation or under pronation. i had hip replaced, constant thigh pain, spasms cramps, worst charlie horse ever, for the last 12 years, folding a paper towel and putting it in my arch has resolved about 80% of my pain. my foot underpronates or over supinates and the rest of my leg compensates and puts stress on my IT band. if any of this is your problem, seek a podiatrist that specializes in biomechanics, can do a gait scan, and possibly makes custom orthotics. i have been offered 5 different surgeries to fix this issue. you have to do your own 'leg work' or get medically kidnapped
Thank`s, this was very Good, I`m doing an MRI first, then if they see something that should be Biopied, then I`ll move forward. You should have something to Biopsy, Not Just a Hit or Miss Procedure.

Ended up with a slightly high Gleeson number, but confined in the prostate. After a biopsy, Pet Scan, markers put in, then 28 sessions of radiation. Some urinary pain, but much better now. Check PSA next month. Thanks for asking. Hopefully I finished for now with doctors. lol
this is a complete track of missinformation. 80% of the time jewelry does not have to be taken off. metal does not equal iron(fe), gold, silver, copper are all, non ferrous metals=non magnetic. only if you have steel jewelry plated with gold or silver do you have to remove it.
Seems to me one should go from the high PSA readings, or abnormal Digital Rectal Exam....RIGHT TO THE MRI, bypassing a biopsy.....not the other way around. Why waste time on a "shot in the dark, inconclusive, and slightly painful biopsy procedure, when the Multiparametric MRI can do so much more?
You tell people not to panic. But then you also say the patient needs to wait a month or longer to be seen again. My question is why? Short answer. GREED. If you only have 10% that get a callback why can’t you have just 1 slot open a day for that reason? Signed very upset husband.

Are you aware that a varicocele can elevate psa and enlarge prostate from backflow of free testosterone..after a high psa i had an mri which came back negative but psa kept going up..the varicocele was causing me pain and i lost most of my free testosterone..so i had yhe varicocele fixed and all reversed..psa ..prostate enlargement..free testosterone all went back to normal..drs are not being taught this but the research is out there proving this..varicoceles are the root cause of bph...dr are you aware of this

This was a well scripted video, with good explanations of the terms and procedures. The presenter was a bit over exposed (her image is too bright). I think the impact would have been greater with a few images demonstrating the procedures described to better illustrate the points made. Keep working on this. Why are they lying to the public about the risks. One abdomen ct scan exsposes someone to as much radiation as many Hiroshima survivors and hundreds of xrays in just one scab
I suffered brutally from radiation poisoning after an abdomen and pelvic ct scan. Destroyed my health and insides. They are unnecessarily radiating the hell out healthy people when they could use mris or ultrasounds. Most of these ct scans come back with zero findings. If you are larger you are at risks for radiation overdosing as the machine will automatically increase the dose to get through

Over and over they say don’t worry when called back. That’s means absolutely nothing to the person called back. The worlds do not help. The issue is that this test is not very good. A lot of cancer is missed and people are also called back when there isn’t any cancer. We need better testing and that’s the bottom line. At the very least when you have your mammogram they should be read immediately and then if something doesn’t look right the additional testing is done at that time. Women shouldn’t have to wait a week or two to get the reimaging.
Thank you for your feedback Early Riser. Thankfully, almost all of our patients are able to get their results immediately as well as have any additional imaging done at the same time. The only exception to this is when we have difficulty getting prior images from other facilities, or if the patient has the mammogram on our mobile mammography coach. Those images are then read within the next couple of days and the patient is called if we need them to come into our facility for additional imaging.
It is wonderful to hear that your facility does the additional testing on the same day if something is found. All facilities should handle it this way but unfortunately most don’t. That is where the problem is and everything you read is don’t worry if your called back only 100 out of a 1,000 are called back and only so many are actual cancer etc. Its a cruel process and I’d rather see hey you got a call back and your freaking out and it’s horrible to wait etc. odds are you will be fine but you may also want to prepare yourself for a possible cancer diagnoses. We’re trying to get it right but this imaging isn’t the best etc. women need and deserve better testing then this. I personally will never get another done. I had two. The first one I got called back for ultrasound and mammogram. It was a cyst. The second I got a call back for BOTH breast. Again cysts. That was 4 appts. Sore breasts from being smashed for days after more radiation exposure and 3 weeks of my life filled with anxiety due to poor testing. When reading and watching videos as well as a women I know almost ALL stories said they got clean mammograms and then found the lumps on their own between mammograms. Your facility thankfully has eliminated the long break and anxiety waiting for a call back appt. but the testing technology is lacking at best. Thanks for your response
