The horrible truth: A president Trump will not stop Israel's genocide either! To the contrary!! NO American president can !!! The anger I feel at Israel is almost indescribable ! I can understand but can't condone the hate directed at the wider Jewish communities. I have family members who fully support Israel and it's genocide and ethnic cleansing. How can they support the murders of babies, children, pregnant women the elderly who had and have no involvement in the actions of Hamas ? I fear there is little to no hope for the Palestinians without the intervention of the west,but what after?
He is making the argument that by abusing the Pals, the Isr. State discredits itself before the global community and makes it lose supporters. He says that the siege in Gaza doesn't really stop resistance because Gazans get a desire for more resistance as a result from it.
I agree with Mr. Hedges' view but also believe, based upon primary sources, that State propaganda is disseminated widely among the Israeli people through mainstream media to manufacture consent for current Gaza policies. Much as it is here in the US, information is manipulated and truth is withheld from the general population. Democracy cannot exist in that circumstance, and characterizing it so is no more than a mere ruse and sleight of hand adeptly invoked by a misguided or corrupt establishment attempting to consolidate power and achieve it's own illicit, ill-conceived ends. Such a social contract is one of adhesion, coerced and void, ultimately immediately voidable upon discovery by the electorate.

Had Mr. Hedges talked about Hamas's own ideology & its ultimate objective of destroying Israel - simply for being "Jewish" state. He would present a much better & complete picture of the conflict in Gaza & with the Palestinians in general. The same time, save his own credibility as an impartial person in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
it is extreme mental gymnastics and straight up denial, that same people who say never again, are the same people raising Gaza to the ground. along with its population which is half children, that were not even born when Hamas was voted in to power. the propaganda is strong, but we are thinking, feeling beings. we will not stand for this, and the outrage is way overdue.

I've spoke to families who had their sons tortured in prisons. Why deny what's been reported on the ground? Why not work for rights for all people, and work to humbly address them? Don't you know over a million people left over the last few years? You don't hear about them speaking about how they can't be around this kind of injustice? You can easily look up everything that's happening-for the last 75+ years. It's now undeniable: massacres and expulsions to establish the state, the most inhumane of treatment, and resounding injustices. Like I said, you should humble yourself and address these injustices.
