So refreshing to hear from a younger version of yourself , Jack. I had heard that Hawaii story from Sharon Salzberg who was there. Her version said that they had no time to get to higher ground so they sat and practiced and remained in the moment as if it were possibly their last moments. The water metaphor resonates with me as well. I used to scuba dive and one of my practicum talks for MMTCP I used neutral buoyancy as a metaphor for reaching equanimity. Water is life and in scuba it can be death as well if you are not paying attention. That balance between defines everything.
Thank you, dear Jack Kornfield, I appreciate you so much! "The spirit is everything". So true. I don't have much money and I don't suffer from it, because of my thankful spirit...I appreciate what I have and I am able to see that it's still a lot. I have a thankful spirit. Thank you so much! Many greetings from Germany 👋🏻 💜
In a video that is basically asking people to become only observant of every trigger in their environment, most people are getting irritated by some music. The day they stop complaining, the meditation would have worked
Thank you for this talk. I do an hour long walking meditation around the lake in our neighborhood. As I walked and listened to your teaching and looked at the water, I felt transported to another time and universe. All became very peaceful and there was a letting go.
