Picube and a bunch of other cube stores are making core magnet versions of various big cubes. VinCube are also soon releasing a ball core version. Unfortunately, there are mathematical issues with core magnetic 4x4s that prevent them actually performing well, Stanley Chapel made a video on the WRM V7 basically saying that he likes it but can't main it because of these issues, I think he even still uses the GTS2M!
It's going to be a mass produced rexto. So it will perform like the qiyi super ivy cube. Which is a cubic shapemod of a fto. So it's really cheap for them to make compared to a completely new puzzle.
IT is the first of its kind and it is really hard to organize but once in delhi we had a comp in the mall like this but only finals head to head and there were hundreds of people watching including non cubers and it was amazing to watch. This was when I started cubing so i wasnt competing but it was crazy to watch but ofc level was lower than all stars
I think Nats and regionals are the best places for those style competitions. If you randomly held one, having that many top solvers in one area would be a huge challenge. Say you hosted one in Denver (somewhat central US), one-day one event comp; who is buying a plane ticket to compete? Nats and regionals at least give them an incentive to travel. If there was a couple $$$$ on the line, it's possible they would travel.
I think the big reason is it's hard for competitors to happen to come together for it. You need a bunch of fast competitors which isn't easy to bring together. you usually would have to fly them out together and they would also happen to have to be all free and be incentivized to come. NAC happened to be right after North American All Stars, giving it a perfect opportunity for North American All stars to get fast competitors, very low cost for them to go, and it was a great warmup for top solvers before NAC, solving under pressure. Yes I know Canadian All stars is a thing, but it wasn't as competitive and the requirement wasn't as strict.
Having unlimited funds to buy whatever cube I want and have & don't care the price of the 15 feels like a sin. This must be what oil money in Dubai feels like.
Yo, Slow mo' live action replays with expert announcers to explain what happened and how impressive it was. Obviously you can't commentate DURING the event, given that they're 5 seconds or less long, but "live action replays", and yeah, new tech like smart cubes, chuck up a couple big ol' screens showing replays of impressive solves and cuber stats, and I think it could be spectator friendly, coz like, I suck at video games, but I LOVE watching content from people who are amazing at them, or content about speed runs that explain exactly what the runner is doing and how insanely impressive it is that they were able to do it etc. Just gotta figure out how to make it a spectacle! Potentially also extra comps for more flashy things that WOULD be longer/more fun to watch like, I dunno, cube mosaic races or something where people have to use multiple three by threes to create a specified image (first thing that came to my mind as an ABSOLUTE novice, not necessarily a real suggestion haha). Most of us watch the olympics for the sports that are entertaining, but it still benefits the more "boring", less spectator friendly sports. That, and get kids involved. People go to see their kids perform, regardless of what it is. Families get bums in seats. Those kids grow up into adults who now have at the very least a nostalgic interest in cubing, or are possibly just solidly in the community now and teaching their own kids.
looking at stanley chapel's review, not so sure about getting one of these as a 4x4 main i might consider the steVIN 4x4 but it does not come in uv (i main the uv vin) stanley also said the gan is not that good or something, so im skeptical
steVin 4x4 doesn't need to be uv cause glossy is honestly good enough and basically uv I have a uv vin 4 and a glossy steVIN 4 and honestly glossy is good too. With that said, I want to mention, Stanley is sponsored by moyu so he's inclined to be a little "biased" towards them and prefer them over other brands. also vin cube is coming out with a stock default ball core 4x4 so you could just wait for that As for the gan 4x4, matty says it is good. But also gotta mention Matty is sponsored by Gan, so his opinion might be a bit "biased" but he did seem to get pretty good results with it in competition. But I did hear phil yu say he wasn't a huge fan, if it was released the way it is when he tried it. But that seems to be like at least 2 months ago, so seems like Gan is taking their time, so I don't think that was a final version. What this means is we gotta wait for the official release to judge the gan 4x4.
@@CewbPianist alright, cool but, i find i cube drop more when the cube is glossy, which is why i no longer have a usable v5 (i got the standard dual adjustment system and wanted to add my own ballcore as i like primary internals) but the thing is, core magnets on even layered cubes cause unevenness on the layers, but the steVIN fixes that, not so sure if the vin cube will take that in consideration
It's more important if you should rather than if you can... See the many games that the devs tried to force to become esports that appeal to a wide audience for monetary reasons, and then completely fail.
I think we can take a gradual approach through the people who are streaming now. Will bopefull talk to Matt Mayernik soon which will be very demure, very mindful.
