make sure you come back after a year of usage and update condition and cost of operation. . .bet'n they become less and less 'cool' as the costs add up.
Umm....Bucky Fuller would build his domes from the top down using a central mast and halyard to lift the top higher and higher as struts were added from the bottom at ground level - MUCH safer and faster than what was portrayed.
This structure looks simple, but it is actually difficult to build and maintain. It is also difficult to ventilate and cool the doors and windows, and it is also difficult to seal them.
@@integrativeyogacenter1764 I have been doing research and design of buildings in harsh environments and energy security research for the government in China. I have retired. Next year or two, we will build a research and development center in Calgary, Canada. The environment involved in our research and projects in China basically covers most of the scenarios on the earth. If you have any questions, you can communicate with us at any time.
I respectfully disagree. While I didn't build an Ekodome I did build a different company's dome. Mine is 26'. There is a learning curve but it's more about remedial geometry vs any specialized skills. For non-professional builders I would argue that building domes is actually *easier* because you're building with triangles that one man can easily manage on their own. I built a 26' dome that is almost 15' tall in the center by myself! That was an incredible feet. In terms of cooling and heating a dome. Domes by their very design are more space efficient. There is less volume of air vs the same size conventional building. In addition there is a natural 'peak' to every dome that makes natural convection cooling/heating easier. You can easily configure a dome for passive solar by insulating the north wall portion of the dome.
You all are wasting tour money buying these. Hard to heat unless you live over a volcano. The shape is less than idea for max production. So many reason.
Awesome Video I recently visited your RU-vid channel and enjoyed your content. However, I noticed that your videos are not ranking well due to some issues. I believe that if these issues are addressed, your videos will rank better. Here are the issues I found with your channel: 1. Video SEO has not been properly done. 2. Videos are not being released on time. 3. The video titles are not optimized. 4. Keyword research has not been done effectively. 5. Video thumbnails are not appealing enough to attract viewers. Solving these issues will help your RU-vid channel perform better.
Good to see you guys posting regularly on social media, looks like you are staying busy. Love your products (that I have seen). Right when we were going to order, Covid hit us and things changed, noticed due to the current economic situation with inflation and getting in supplies that the prices have went up significantly. Hope to buy one this year from you guys as from what I have seen, your domes are the best on the market for ease of construction, price point and quality. Best of luck and may the momentum stay with you.
If you could build the same thing in the shape of an egg and build it out of another substance that doesnt interfere with charge implosion, then this would be great. In it's current from it would be suitable for a storage warehouse for non-living things but not good for the life-force of anything that is alive.. Research the physicist Dan Winter if you don't know what I'm talking about.
Too many seems and connections on a geodesic to seal out the leaks. They are great for grow domes, sheds and spaces that won't be ruined when they leak. I'd go with a monolithic style that drastically eliminates leak possibilities.
14 grand for the frame only? Crazy expensive considering you can buy a 29ft frameless polycarbonate dome from Viking, with solar vents and a tempered glass door in a stainless steel frame for the same price.
Viking is a good company with nice products, but Ekodome has an entirely different aluminum frame system and connection hubs. Every figure related to structural integrity, dead loads, wind loads, and other specs differs. The cost is directly related to the component combination and the experience.
