Saludos…
Thank you for the video, the question I have is, when using the cube icon, how does one get the look like you have on your roof. I am using stakes in my lawn on both sides of the driveway. I my layout I had to place each single stake but would like to use the cube to show all of them. I guess I need to know how to angle them to show in the layout and not up and down. Hope I didn't confuse you to much, first time with a show this year.
So what is the solution for the xsqz file? I packaged sequences all up as you showed me another video but now can only open in “read only” status on my other computer. I tried to change to a .zip file but that did not solve my problem and made things messier…. ??
The solution is for the devs to put it back the it was or give us the choice on how we want to package sequences. I have no idea why your computer will not allow you to change the file type.
This is one of the most badass sequences you've done, IMHO. I got it last year, and with your help, I could project the video you did via video projector to my garage door with a 6.5'x10.5' screen. I added in my M8 classic singing trees, and everybody was dancing in the streets! This is an excellent tutorial you take us through, showing your handy work, demonstrating how to use many different effects and timings, and adding much more than just the basics. Thanks, Ron! 👍👍
With timings you should be able to click inside a timing with effects and drag down and across to select effects, right-click Copy, choose he area where you want to place them, select that cell, and right-click Paste.
I love using Shockwave as a mask to remove effects. I know some ppl are overly antagonistic against that particular effect (they're crazy) and I recall a member of the FB group made a sequence *only* using Shockwave one time, as a sort of troll/joke towards those other folks lol
I enjoy all your videos. this my first year using Xlights and I have so much to learn. The Layer stuff really confuses me to know what to layer with what to get a desired outcome.
@@xTremeSequences I only have 8 3 ring arches and 4 I call mid size trees 8' tall that's pixels all my other stuff is still AC led. Would it be worth it to buy one of your sequences to get a feel for how you layer stuff?
@@xTremeSequences thanks..I live in Mesa and thinking seriously about your package. Wondering how far each prop can be extended if I need more than a 10 ' extension
loved this video, super helpful! when selecting the models to import, i initially had the same problem of having to "individually click a million checkboxes." turns out, i found a way to select them all: right click the selection box, and there's options to, "Select All/Deselect All," Expand All Trees/Collapse All Trees," etc. Made it a lot less painful :)
I love how xLights runs on a Mac, except that the Mac version doesn't support the scroll wheel hover and scroll like the PC version when making these right click selections in the sequencer window. That would be a game changer if that feature could get added since it speeds up the process of testing out how the various selections impact the effect by at least 10x.
@@xTremeSequences I'll have to send you an example. From what I understand there is some fundamental way Mac operates that prevents the scroll wheel from working the same way as a PC.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that doesn't get the pop up on the color palettes on Mac. I've asked in every group I'm a part of and all I got was crickets. Thanks for the video!
I was able to use it for Introductions/ Voiceovers without any issue. Just make sure the audio is clear, without any "umms" ahh"s or other human "buffering"... or those noises are added into the text / lyrics you submit with the audio.
@@xTremeSequences Absolutely agree! Any tips you have as a content creator to those of us that are more used to shiny things than voice acting? V/O sounds simple, but reality is more Nuanced
I think this is what drew me too your sequences. The way you use the effects that bounce from the middle to the outside and visa versa. That by far is my favorite style of effect across a model.
That effect at 2:55 is in some of my sequences, including ones that I have purchased from you. I hadn't noticed until a couple of viewers pointed it out to me but it looks very close to a swastika. I didn't change it but I thought you should know.
Hi Ron, I have been out of the hobby since last season due to a job change and haven't been able to do anything with xlights to date. This year I think I may just run last years show no new changes. I have a basic layout and would like your opinion on how to improve it perhaps start over without costing to much additional $$. Would it be possible to take a look at my layout and get some suggestions? I also would like to layout to be more accessible so possibly removing the outlines that are up high. Thank you in advance. Shawn
i mapped you poles to the sticks sub model group but if you look around 35 seconds and other places the poles don't seem to follow your effects, I've tried mapping to other groups that come with the model in xlights
I am confused.... I live in the PHX area and we have an engineering company nearby that does similar forms you put the lights in. Are they the ones you use? Also, from time to time, I see comments that one must purchase their own music for these shows. So, if that is the case, how are your packages "Plug and Play?" If you have to buy your own music, how do you incorporate that into the package? I am interested in your basic pkg to start with. What am I missing?
While using this circle, the default wiring/lights will not work for my spinner prop, as it has individual arms and space on outer most part is about 8 inches between holes, I need to wire up and down each arm. This is a 3D spinner prop. Is there a way to modify the wiring of the prop I created with the circle, without creating a custom model? I know there will be some rework, but trying to stay away from custom model if possible.
Backup.. although now at least a backup copy will be kept, if you aren't a seasoned user of xLights and only open it around the holidays, you should keep more backups.. else when you open xLights the next season, all but the latest one will be wipped. Center.. right click where you want the center to be... Set Center Offset Here Cleanup file location, "dumps" all into an Images/Vidoes folder and sequnce specifc subfolder; that's import from zip. It can overide other existing assets with the same name, Santa.jpg, WavingFlag.mp4... be careful Still no go on unecessary groups...
I'm just honored that you, as an up-and-coming xLights developer, take the time to watch my tutorials. It's extra special that you have listed so many of my suggestions and requests and acted on them to help improve xLights for the community. It is noticeable that you have learned much from Keith, Dan, and Gil. Keep up the great work.
