Many years ago i was working on fitting out this ship. She was at the time brand new.final outfitting was done in a small yard in the western part of norway.just rember she was a truly beautyful modern ship.😊
Loving these videos Douglas, watching them at half playback speed to appreciate the amount that's going on. Looking forward to more in this series. Thanks
The videos are also a good documentary on the weather in summer 2022! From time to time we see a glimpse of sunshine, and only then do we realise how little sunshine there’s been!
Just think how many small inshore boats were brokered to cobble together the KW rating for that albeit lovely boat, but how many families like mine were pushed out of the trade and had to sell up cos we couldn't compete with these massive companies that own these huge trawlers. Thank fcuk u can't use big boats like that inside the Wash (East Anglia) 👍✌
3rd December Leeds Brudenell.......can't wait,it's going to be a FANTASTIC gig ! ! Hopefully me and my brother,a former Nissach, will get chance to meet the lads for a blether.
We were there a year before this video was shot, had good coffee and cheesecake. Unfortunately, pretty Seithisfjordur is now under a million tons of mud. Such a pity, hope the country will support the reconstruction.
Hello, I am from a country called Mauritania that is rich in fish. I am interested in finding a company that has fishing boats that want to bring them here for fishing, and I am ready to cooperate with them. Email: hacen3632@gmail.com
in continuation... the "square - rectangular" form of the temple, which is "order" , direction, intensity of meaning, can be contrasted with the "curves" of the theatre, which implies community, being together...., two opposite formal expressions , in an age, where now, we use whatever forms comes in handy and look good. A true lesson , in "sense" and architectural rightness and humility !!!
It is a stunning site, behind the temple is a steep valley which has the effect of really separating the temple from the hillside behind. Unfortunately I was pressed for time and didn't get to see the theatre as well . . . . maybe one day soon.
Very very beautifully filmed !!!!!, and the quiet music in accord...., lets one SEE .., a site that I had visited 60 years ago..., and as a young architect very moved then as now. Regarding the site and as I remember it, something about the orientation of the temple itself towards a distant hill ?,....of obviously major significance ?, . Bernard Kohn, (now in southen france).
Douglas L Hi Douglas! How are you? Hope everything is ok. We’re making a video guide of Sicily but we had lost all our files (we format the SD by mistake) and we’re asking to different channels in order to use some of your images. If is ok for you, we will tag you when your images appear in the video and in the final credits. Also we’ll put a link to your channel in the info box. Thanks a lot!!
@@douglasl832 Hi!! Our video is already done and uploaded, here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-drDEkKR5xeQ.html Thanks again for your help!!!
Douglas L I see the fingal is berthed in leith now! My dad was also aboard the fingal whilst she was in Oban. I have many a photograph of the Pharos, beautiful ship.
Buxtehude "Nun bitten wir" in case anyone is wondering. And thanks!! Ai learned this piece at age 17 as a beginner, fresh away "to college" as we say in the US. It was during the long years of playing everything in a continuous and seemless legato--alla Dupré. It has been fun, seriously, to almost relearn this and +/- 20 other pieces by our Diderik not once but 2-3 times in the space of 3 decades or so. Most of us crazy organists in 2019 have gotten past the fullon Harald Vogel approach. It took one magic word from B's "pupil," (true, as I chuckle tho): namely, JSB. And that word is "cantabile." This cincept IS the organ. And I personally believe it must have been from the beginning. No matter the techniques in use, or the manuals/pedalboards, the construction and finishing of the pipes, etc etc--the organ was to SING. Not necessarily imitate vocal or choral works, but breathe and enunciate and create "feels" like they do. Of course, known techniques and extant organs from a given period teach us a great many things (and not just any one thing). Still, "cantabile" is higher power. But what a kind, intelligent, flexible power. Maybe God is more like this than we are willing to accept?? Now. What is some commenter trying to say with all of that "overthinking?" Guys: I have. listened with rapt attention to ca. 30 recorded or live performances of this C.P., which would have to be in a top 10 of the standard-standard repertoire. I have tried to do that with a sincere desire to improve my personal "take" on this important and quite unique work. It's not lightly that I want to say that your interpretation--complete with congregation buzz and the Babygesang stop :) aww--is right on in every way. Der heilige Geist is "asked for" in the spirit of the timeless, so-emotional but never pretentious chorale. How very Nordic of you! 🔥And not just for nusicians but for all the people the organ and the organist sing down into the hall both in a professional and human manner. You also got a tricky rhythm just right, in that it also sang. But it also "blew wherever it listeth" to quote the New Testament. The unpredictable Holy Spirit came into that room, from across the centuries, into this techno contraption called RU-vid, then blew into the heart and mind of an American guy trynna be okay in trrrruhmpffErikka. A mutual (I hope) validation is what I more deeply wanted. With an on-fire greeting, from, Mark.

Thanks for the comment. The music is something I did myself but is based on the opening of the slow movement of Bruckner's 7th symphony. I used the Notion program and sounds to record it.
