The Cadets is one of the oldest and most honored continuously operating drum and bugle corps with members from across the globe. The corps was founded in Garfield, NJ as The Holy Name Cadets in 1934 and is currently headquartered in Allentown, PA. With ten gold medals since the inception of Drum Corps International and hundreds of regional and circuit championships during its rich 86-year history, The Cadets are one of the winningest drum corps in history. The Cadets travel over 14,000 miles each summer entertaining hundreds of thousands of drum corps fans throughout the nation.
why do drum corps people go on and on about how much physical effort it takes to do drum corps? what are they trying to prove? who are they trying to impress? quite frankly, it comes off a little insecure and annoying. in any endeavor in life, nobody cares about how hard you worked. it's ultimately about the results that you put out.
In my band one of the assistant directors was in this show he played the Mello in the demon side. He told the backstory on how they got the broken Mello they slammed. Apparently it got ran over by a car.
It's So Hard To Say Good Buy To Yesterday!!! It's a shame that not only the Cadets folded but let's not ever forget All the great performers throughout the decades these kids deserves praise I feel bad for the future kids that will never experience being a cadet Holy Name Forever!!!😢
This was the first ever DCI show I saw, along with many of my bandmates. It was during band camp in my first year of marching band. We were sat down after dinner in a big hall. Seeing this show on the projector and the big, full sound the entire corps blasting through the PA system was just mind blowing. It helped that the theme was easy to understand too for a bunch of 13 year olds. The full sound of the brass, the amazingly choppy and clean beats from the drumline, the expressive playing from the front ensemble, and the super clean and graceful visuals from the colour guard. It was such a big inspiration. RIP Cadets, FHNSAB.
Love the Cadets. Will miss them dearly. That said, the pee pee dancing they (and most other corps) do is a bit much. Just play and jam. No need to dance like Elaine from Seinfeld.
Never marched with cadets, but I competed against them in 2023. I have only performed in the Drum Corps World for one year but losing Cadets feels like losing a friend. They were a part of the backbone of the activity. The activity will not be the same without them
Today CAE declared bankruptcy. I came back to this video to mourn. Its just band but Its so sad to see such a group go. For Holy Name Shall Always Be❤️💛❤️💛
Rip the Cadets, a long history from the holy name cadets to garfield cadets and then to The Cadets. It sad to see a drum corp go away, especially one of the most influential corps.
