I enjoyed hearing you both talk about Psalm 46:10. Two definitions of the word "still" in the Merriam Dictionary are quiet and calm. A definition of the word "know" is to recognize the nature of. We can apply those three definitions to Psalm 46:10. In prayer, "be still" waiting quietly before God. "Know" or recognize that God is all powerful, exalted among nations, and exalted in the earth. He can and will "calm" the storms in our lives.
Thank you both for sharing another relevant topic! I like the NLT version of Proverbs 27:9 that reads, 'The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense.'
Thanks Kristine. I’m so blest by listening to you two ladies. Just so good for the heart!! I have been confronted by. Ring butter. This was very helpful!! Thank you! Lorraine
Thank you both for another relevant topic. As I was listening, I thought of Jonah and how he was bitter about God's instructions for the people of Ninevah. When Jonah disobeyed him, God showed his grace to him, as he did to the people of Nineveh, who were unable to make moral judgments. Maybe the people who wrong us are unable, at times, to make moral judgments. If their actions trigger us, we can stop bitter feelings by praying and remembering God's grace to Ninevah and to us.
Thanks, Carmen. Bitterness is something I don’t often want to admit, but there is hope and healing as we take our struggles to the Father. Thanks for listening.🙏🏻
Well, I am catching up on “all the things” this morning while I am sitting at the hair salon. I so enjoyed the wisdom y’all shared. It’s good to know that we are “in progress,” & it’s never too late to learn & grow. Thanks for this encouragement.
That is so true, Debra! I remember a time after cancer treatments when the pain was so great that I couldn’t do anything but lay in bed and pray. That was a time in my life when I felt closest to the Lord. I grew in many ways spiritually through that painful time.🙏🏻 God bless you, and thanks for the comment!
Thank you for this timely message. Forgetting offenses has been difficult at times, event though I had forgiven the offender. I feel better eqipped when negative feelings arise about the offenses and realize that forgiveness and forgetting is a process that takes time.
Thanks so much for sharing this and all your videos! This one is good for me because I'm going through a "lean" time, and it reminds me to stop and trust God, remembering that He always provides. If I'm not careful, I can go into thought "overdrive," becoming anxious. I need to focus instead on the one day at a time and keep my eyes upward. If I am busy giving praise, I can't give in to panic.
Very timely encouragement and taking our thoughts captive is so important in the forgiveness process and post forgiveness. Thank you for the scriptural supports.
Thank you for sharing this relevant topic. God is merciful to forgive and forget our sins. He knows it is hard for us to forget the memories. Your advice is sound to give them to God. Isaiah 26:3 says: You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in him.
Thank you for another relevant faith filled video! I am also a person who wants to see the big picture. Every day that I wait, God blesses me with what I need, which makes me realize how wonderful "small picture" things are.
Hi Marianne, thank you for the comment. I am learning to wait well, and to look for God’s goodness in the little things along the way:) Blessings to you!
Hey friends, for more in depth study on this topic, check out this video by my friend Lyli Dunbar. She does a great job unpacking the truth of God’s Word about persistent prayer.❤ ru-vid.comRU0vu-jSp2A?si=dEp5y_i-dQIgghJR
This topic was what I needed to hear about this morning. Every day I pray for my adult son to come to the Lord and give up his alcohol crutch and addiction. Sometimes I feel it is in vain-that my son’s free will win out and he won’t allow the Holy Spirit into his heart. It’s been going on so long. But this talk helps me see that behind the scenes Jesus is working as he did with Jarius’ daughter. Trust in Jesus being always there working on my son is giving me Peace.
This was a nice talk. I have many, many scripture verses in my Notes on my phone. I add to them anytime I can. But I go to these verses whenever I am anxious or afraid or sad, and read through these verses on my phone. I always have my phone so I always have these verses. And I love that I have “ permission” not to remember WHERE these verses are in the Bible. Reading aloud these verses on my phone is very comforting. Thank you, Ladies.
On your phone, yes! Love that tip. I also like writing them in my journal then snapping a picture with my phone to keep it close. Thank you for sharing, Anita!
Thank you, Ladies for speaking about this important topic. All your tips can replenish our peace: visualizing Jesus with us, reading scripture, praying, music worship and Help-You Know-Do It Again.
Valerie, that is a great idea. I will get to work on that! As soon as I have a printable version, I will email it to my subscribers. Thank you for asking!
I very much enjoyed this and took it to heart. I’m in a parent-adult child situation now with my son and I need, need, need ! To rely on God’s wisdom, not mine. The two verses mentioned are highlighted in my Bible to say over and over. Thank you. I’m looking forward to part 2 .
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us! Yes, having adult children can make me feel out of control. I like what you said about relying on God’s wisdom instead of our own. Amen!🙏🏻 We can depend on the truth from God’s Word to speak peace to our hearts.
This topic is much needed. Thank you! I need to replenish my peace frequently. I often add a comforting or encouraging Bible verse to my reminder app to repeat throughout the day. Either reading it or praying it throughout the day helps me stay encouraged.
Very needed podcast as I navigate a season of restoration. Registered and still no password for Kristine's Restoration Promises printable, I would love to have them as a part of study.
Hi Shavonda, I apologize for the issue with getting the restoration printable. I just sent you an email with a PDF copy, along with access to the other resources on my website. You may need to check your junk or spam folder to make sure my email didn't land there. If not, feel free to reach out to me at kristine@morethanyourself.com. Thanks for listening!
I'm going through God's restoration. I like that rest is the first part of restoration. I need to rest in the Lord and remember what He said in Jeremiah 30:17. I will restore health and heal your wounds, declares the LORD.
Love your topic because I am THERE! So thankful you popped up this morning to give me hope after some very hard times. May you both be blessed as God leads you to topics to restore listeners just like me. God bless!
Thank you for your kind words, Irene! I am so thankful the topic encouraged you right where you are. I am praying for you now and trusting God as he goes before you. Bless you!
Praying scripture has helped me a lot. The words in the Bible were powerful centuries ago and they are still powerful today. Psalm 23 is my favorite psalm because it is so comforting and reassuring.
